Name origin
Alakazam's name is part of an incantation used in stage magic, Abracadabra, Alakazam. Foodin is probably a reference to Harry Houdini, a famous magician and escapologist.
Alakazam's spoons are a reference to the magician Uri Geller, who claimed to have the ability to bend spoons with his mind. See the article on Kadabra for more information.
Like Abra and Kadabra, Alakazam shaires physical traits with foxes.
