This article is about the game item. For the plush toy line, please see Poké Doll (plush).

A Pokémon doll, often called a Poké Doll for short, is a type of item.

Generation I

Poké Dolls are available as an item in Pokémon Red and Blue as well as in later games. They cost $1000 and are used to distract wild Pokémon in order to escape from Pokémon battles.

One can also be given to the Copycat in exchange for TM31 (Mimic) in the Generation I games.

They are only available in regions where Clefairy appears in the regional Pokédex. In regions where they are not available, the Fluffy Tail takes its place. Perhaps on purpose, in regions where the Fluffy Tail is available, Clefairy is not in the regional Pokédex, and therefore, the Poké Doll is not available for purchase.

Generation II

In the second Generation of games, dolls became available as a decoration for the bedroom. In these games, sometimes the player character's mother will buy dolls for his or her room with saved up money, but the most common way to receive them is with Mystery Gift.

One feature of Pokémon Stadium 2 allows players to view their entire room and its decorations, including any dolls, in 3-D.

Clefairy Doll

A Clefairy Doll is a key item found at the Pokémon Fan Club in Vermilion City. If given to the Copycat, she will give away the pass to ride the Magnet Train. This is implied to be the same doll that she received in Generation I.

Normal and Gorgeous Boxes

If a Pokémon earned as a reward for clearing Gym Leader Castle in Pokémon Stadium is traded to a Generation II game or has its item put into the Metal Case in Pokémon Stadium 2, that Pokémon will be carrying one of two special boxes that go into the Items pocket. Those earned in Round 1 will be carrying a Normal Box, which, when opened in a Generation II game, will reveal a Silver Trophy inside. Those earned in Round 2 will be carrying a Gorgeous Box, which will reveal a Gold Trophy inside when opened in the same way.

Generation III

In the third Generation games, dolls can be used to decorate a Secret Base, and can be either bought in various locations, such as at the marketplace in Slateport City, at the Lilycove Department Store, with coins at the Mauville Game Corner or with Battle Points at the Battle Frontier. Lanette will also give one in exchange for keeping her messy house a secret. All dolls must be placed on a Desk, a Mat, or on a certain kind of Ornament.

Dolls are not available in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, particularly because there are no Secret Bases in FireRed and LeafGreen. However, Lorelei's house contains a number of dolls, since she collects them.

Regi dolls

The three Legendary Golems also have dolls. However, currently, there is no known way to obtain them except by cheating.

Generation IV

Dolls, like many other decorations in this generation, are available by trading spheres to Hikers in the Underground. They can also be purchased in the fourth floor of the Veilstone Department Store.

Instead of placing them on desks or mats, dolls, like many other decorations, cannot be placed on top of any other objects.
