Noctowl (Japanese: ヨルノズク Yorunozuku, German: Noctuh, French: Noarfang) is a Normal/Flying-type Pokémon.
Pokédex entries
- Pokémon Crystal
- Its extremely soft feathers make no sound in flight. It silently sneaks up on prey without being detected.
- Pokémon Emerald
- It unfailingly catches prey in darkness. Noctowl owe their success to superior vision that allows them to see in minimal light, and to their supple and silent wings.
Name origin
Noctowl's name is a combination of nocturnal and owl. Its Japanese name is a combination of 夜 yoru, night, and 木菟 mimizuku, horned owl. The French corruption stands for nocturnal Snowy Owl.
It appears to be based on a great horned owl.
