Ledian (Japanese: レディアン Redian, German: Ledian, French: Coxyclaque) is a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon.

It is said that in lands with clean air, where the stars fill the sky, there live many Ledian. For good reason, they use the light of the stars as energy.

Name origin

Ledian's name is a misspelling of ladybird, also known as a ladybug. It also appears to incorporate alien into its name, owing to its head which appears similar to greys. The French corruption means ladybird slap; the slap oviously referring to the Pokémon's punching-glove like fore and mid legs.

However, Ledian's appearance is that of a ladybird with its shell opened and wings outstretched, which links this Pokémon with Ledyba.
