Pineco (Japanese: クヌギダマ Kunugidama; German: Tannza; French: Pomdepic) is a Bug-type Pokémon.

Pokédex entries

Pokémon Emerald
A Pineco hangs from a tree branch and waits for prey. While eating, if it is disturbed by someone shaking its tree, it falls on the ground and suddenly explodes.

Name origin

Pineco's name is an abbreviation of pine cone, reflecting its pine cone-like appearance.

However, this Pokémon appears to be a type of bagworm. Pineco also looks like a hand grenade.
