History
Equivalent Exchange. You've heard of the term, haven't you? To receive something, humankind must give something of equal value in return. For example, to receive a hard spanking, a boy must work hard at not doing his homework. Yep, Equivalent Exchange was not just a theory, it was the law of nature. That was what lead to alchemists trying to perform a certain taboo: Human transmutation. Transmutation involves giving up an item for something of equal value. For example, you take a bar of gold and use alchemy to give it up for, say, a small atom of platinum. That's how it works, basically. Alchemists have been trying for years to perform human transmutation. Two boys, Edward and Alphonse Elric, even lost their bodies attempting to do so. In the end, they all ended in failures...some ended up in the creation of homunculi. Siarnaq was the result of its creator's sister transmuting himself with a machine. It was an accident, for she was actually attempting to turn that machine into a working one. The accident occured when her elbow was slightly touching the edge of the transmutation circle. When the process ended, Siarnaq lost every bit of humanity in her. No, I'm just kidding. I created Siarnaq to ignore ignore certain people on MSN while I'm at school.
