Booster pack (TCG)

Booster packs are packs of 9 to 11 cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Boosters are more commonly bought over decks due to stronger cards and the fact that Theme Decks always are fixed packs. On rare occasions, a Pokémon LV.X, Pokémon-ex, Pokémon Star, or Shining Pokémon can be found inside.

Before the Diamond and Pearl series, booster packs contained only 9 additional cards, however when Diamond and Pearl was released, the number got pushed up to 10, a welcome improvement to pokémon card players and collectors alike.

The Stormfront expansion included 3 secret cards that could only be found in booster packs distributed around the world.
