Stat Trainers

Stat trainers is a fanon termonolgy for a type of Pokémon Trainers who specialize in Pokémon that excell in a certain stat.

Stat trainers first debuted in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Each are first encountered at a certain location and ask the player to help them through the location. While they accompany the player, they help the player battle wild Pokémon and other Trainers. They also heal the players Pokémon after each battle.

The stat trainers can be encountered again at the Battle Tower were they participate in double battles with the player.

In Pokémon Platinum, these trainers can be battled at the Match Place.

There are only five stat trainers. Cheryl who specializes in Pokémon with high HP, Riley who specialize in Pokémon with a high Attack stat, Mira who specializes in Pokémon with a high Special Attack stat, Buck who specializes in Pokémon with a high Defense stat, and Marley who specializes in Pokémon with a high Speed stat.

Trivia

• There has yet to be a trainer who specializes in a Special Defense stat. However, many of Buck's Pokémon have a high Special Defense stat as well as Defense.
