Pokémon aircraft
Since the late 1990s, All Nippon Airways has had five different Boeing 747 jets with Pokémon paint jobs. Each plane seems to feature Pokémon from the generation that was the newest at that time as the majority.
ANA Pokémon Jet 1998
During winter 1992, a contest was held by ANA to design one of their jets. The winner was a sixth-grade girl named Yuki Ogaki, who submitted a whale-themed design later titled the Marine Jumbo. Due to the public admiration of an uncommon paint job, ANA painted another Boeing 747 with a Snoopy design in 1996. Then, in 1998, this plane had another layer of paint added. This time, being a Pokémon design. This design was also popular, and caused ANA to create several more planes with Pokémon designs.
