Talk:Satoshi Tajiri
It might be more appropriate and/or respectful to refer to him by his family name rather than his given name. It is more professional, in any case. -Argy
Pronunciation
Err... does anybody know how to say his name. User:GlalieGuy
- Like any Japanese name or word. To make it easy, though, Saa-toh-shee Taa-jee-ree. --Pie ~♪♫ 20:00, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
His disease
Do we have proof? Plus, when was he diagnosed? AND, wasn't he talking about movie 12 in the endings of a couple DP episodes? He seemed fine, then...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 04:22, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- Asperger's doesn't mean that you're retarded or anything. It means that you're bad at interacting with people. TTEchidna 04:43, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- I know it doesn't mean that you're retarded if you have it, but, its just that he seemed normal in those times he was talking to the camera... plus, come on, we could use proof and when he was diagnosed to include as proof.--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 04:48, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Aspergers
Shouldn't such a drastic claim, such as a disease, at least be sourced by someone reliable, like Tajiri himself or an MD who diagnoses him? I don't think this is fit for an article without a source, because otherwise it's just a rumor, so I've taken it out, and haven't found a reliable source that says anything about Tajiri and any disease or condition he may or may not have. - [1], [2], [3] Sources for Aspergers and the quote from Nintendo, thanks to the Wikipedia article this one is based on. — THE TROM — 19:45, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Neither of the two sources who claim he has Aspergers say where they got this information, and I highly doubt that some "Best of" lists were the place where this alleged fact originally came from. Again, I don't think such a drastic claim should be made unless backed up by a reliable source, such as Tajiri himself, or a close friend/family member, or someone in the medical profession. - Well if this newspaper isn't good enough for you, and a million other sites dedicated to Asperger's syndrome don't cut the mustard, I'll ask my GP, you start penpalling Tajiri's mum. Maybe we'll hear back before Generation V. — THE TROM — 03:09, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- Again, like the video game sites, the newspaper doesn't say how they know that Tajiri has Asperger's, just that he does. And now it's even more complicated, because some sites say "allegedly", some are definite. Many are just copying/pasting the exact same lines that have appeared on Wikipedia and this article, or again just stating so as it's a matter of fact.
- And hey, no need to get smart about it. Asking for a reliable source when claiming something as drastic as a medical disorder should be encouraged, not met with sarcasm. Randomspot555 05:07, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- All the evidence, at the moment, points at Asperger's. If you can prove otherwise, I'd like to see it. — THE TROM — 06:36, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
- I don't have to prove that he doesn't have Aspergers. The users who've edited the article have to substantiate their claim. And in this case, none of these sites cite how they know that Tajiri has Aspergers. It's just stated that he does. Just because it's repeated enough doesn't make it true.
