Pyramid King Brandon (Japanese: ピラミッドキング ジンダイ Pyramid King Jindai) is the Frontier Brain and chief of the Battle Frontier's Battle Pyramid.
In the anime
He is shrouded in mystery for most of the Battle Frontier saga. Unlike the other Brains, his silhouette is not shown on its own during the opening and is only seen in the center of the group shot. Trainers will only find out the location of the Battle Pyramid after they have collected the other six symbols. This may mean that Brandon ranks higher than the rest of the Frontier Brains, although in the video games and manga this position belongs to Anabel. When Ash finally gets his sixth Frontier Symbol in Second Time's the Charm, he learns that it is located near Pewter City.
His first battle with Brandon occurred in Battling the Enemy Within. However, Ash was possessed by an ancient king of the Pyramid who battled Brandon's Regirock with Ash's Sceptile. Sceptile unfortunately was defeated, though Ash eventually regained control of his body and the Pyramid was moved to an area near the Indigo Plateau.
For their second battle in Overjoyed!, Ash's Torkoal squared off against Brandon's Registeel. However, Torkoal too was defeated by Brandon's legendary Pokémon.
Ash and co. met up with Brandon in a forest, in Gathering the Gang of Four. In Pace - The Final Frontier!, Brandon and Ash fought in a 4 vs 4 battle. Brandon's Dusclops defeated Ash's Charizard in the first round, but was then defeated by Ash's Bulbasaur. Then, Brandon's Ninjask squared off against Ash's Squirtle. Squirtle was able to beat Ninjask with a Hydro Pump. In the next round, Squirtle was defeated by Brandon's Solrock, which on its turn, drew with Bulbasaur. With both competitors left to their last Pokémon, Ash used his Pikachu while Brandon unveiled yet another Pokémon from his legendary army—this time, a Regice. Pikachu however, managed to hold its own against the legendary golem and came out victorious, becoming only the second Pokémon in the anime to have defeated a legendary Pokémon, after Charizard.
Brandon appears again in DP128 where he is challenged to a battle by Paul. He also wins the match easily.
In DP129, Brandon tries and fails to stop Pokémon Hunter J from disturbing Regigigas and it then goes on a rampage. It eventually calms down when Brandon saves it from being turned into a statue by J. He then leaves Regirock, Registeel and Regice at the Snowpoint Temple to protect Regigigas.

Any Trainer arriving at the top of the Battle Pyramid just after Brandon must battle against him for the status of the Pyramid's conqueror.
Brandon appreciates the grand life of the explorer. He recalls the passion, danger, and desperation of his death-defying and life-affirming adventures. When defeated in battle, he'll praise the grandness of the match and hand over the Brave Symbol.

It just goes to show that I have much to learn still! May our paths cross again! Farewell for now, young explorer!"
In the Pokémon Special manga
Brandon took witness to Emerald's battle with Noland and immediately refined his facility for him, just in case. He seems to carry a special dislike for Emerald, but treats him fairly - explaining the rules of the Battle Frontier and showing off his Pokémon to the boy before the challenge. He expects Emerald to be tired out during their confrontation, but is surprised to see that Emerald used a Phanpy's Pickup ability to collect enough items to keep his team refreshed. Brandon says he favors one-hit knockout moves, like Explosion.

Trivia
- Brandon tends to yell "Nooo!!" (Japanese: 喝!! Katsu!!) when he disapproves of something in the anime.
- Brandon is the only character in the anime to officially own Pokémon that have been deemed legendary.
- He is also the only character to have been challenged 3 times (including the non-official battle with the Ancient King) by Ash before being defeated. In terms of the number of the battles with Ash, he is one of few known Trainers to have battled Ash more than twice, the other two being Clair and Gary. Both also battled Ash thrice, although in Clair's case, the first two official Gym battles were interrupted.
- Both of the teams that he uses in Pokémon Emerald are made up of the members of a legendary trio found in the Generation III paired versions. Coincidentally, both trios can also be found in Platinum, but not in Diamond and Pearl.
- He is the secon human to be turned into stone, the first is Ash Ketchup. However unlike Ash, Brandon don't die.
