Ashachu (Japanese: サトチュウ Satochu) is a fanon term used to describe Ash Ketchum as a Pikachu.

In the episode Hocus Pokémon, Ash and friends encounter a witch named Lily who claims to be able to make a spell that allows the user to think like a Pokémon. Ash, Brock, and Misty all try to help her complete the spell. At the end of the episode, the spell is put onto Ash. Instead of literally being able to read a Pokémon's mind (as predicted), the spell turned him into a Pikachu because of an accident on Lily's behalf. The spell was not permanent, and Brock notes that it did what Lily intended: Ash was thinking exactly like a Pikachu as he was in the mind of one.

While this is mainly used in relation to his transformation in Hocus Pokémon, it is often brought up in hopes for future possibilities, as Ash changed back into his normal appearance at the beginning of the following episode.

Trivia

  • Ash was the first Trainer in the anime to be transformed into his Pokémon. The second would later be Baron Alberto, who transforms into a Lickilicky during the events of The Rise of Darkrai.
  • This is the only Pikachu in the anime to have different voice actors for the Japanese and American broadcasts, because Ash keeps his voice while he is transformed.
  • Even as a Pikachu, Ash retains his spiky hair.

all so when ash transformed into ashachu his clothes and poke balls transformed with him when it should have been just his body that transformed
