Q is a dual-type Water/Psychic Glitch Pokémon.

It evolves from 44Hy at Level 6.

Its number is 121, and because it is a Water/Psychic-type, this suggests it is a hybrid of Starmie.

In the party

Whenever Q is the first Pokémon in the party, all of the Pokémon below it will be invisible. The player's party will then be unable to be healed at any Pokémon Center. The only way to heal them is to use items such as Revive. If Q is moved to the bottom of your party, all other Pokémon will once again be visible and be able to be healed at a Pokémon Center. Once Q faints, it can only be healed with a Revive or similar item.

Duplication trick/Merge Trick

Due to Q's unusual behavior, it and its Red and Blue equivalent Charizard 'M are the only Pokémon that enable a player to a unique trick, often called the "Q trick". It involves depositing Q and other Pokémon into Bill's PC in a certain order, and then when they are retrieved, the Pokémon's attacks and stats will be transferred from one Pokémon to another; for example, a Moltres may end up receiving the stats of a common Caterpie, while a Pikachu may receive the stats of the same Moltres.

In Generation II

When viewing Q in Gold, Silver, and Crystal, it will appear as ????? as the number #255.

Game Data

Obtaining Q

There are only two ways to obtain a Q; by evolving a 44Hy or trading a Charizard 'M from the Red/Blue versions. It is easier to evolve a 44Hy since Charizard 'M is hard to obtain. Q cannot be seen in the Menu or caught by directly using the Mew Glitch. Because of this, Q is one of the few Glitch Pokémon that cannot be caught by directly using the Mew glitch (Not counting the numerous Glitch Pokémon that can be caught only with GameShark, or 'M). After evolving, Q will be nicknamed "TM55".

Normally, a Pokémon with a special stat of 255 would make a Q appear using method #3 of the Mew glitch. However, when this is done the game freezes.
