Kiyo is a Black Belt and Fighting-type specialist who appeared in the Generation II games and the anime.

In the Games

Blackbelt Kiyo is a trainer at Mt. Motar. To reach him, the player much travel through a lengthly maze section within the mountain. After defeating him, Kiyo will give the player a Tyrogue if he has an empty slot in his party.

In the Anime

Kiyo appears in A Tyrogue Full of Trouble!. He is a former student of Chuck's and is in training to compete in the P-1 Grand Prix. He desires to earn the trust of an abandoned Tyrogue near Mt. Motar. Kiyo saves Tyrogue from a rock slide and later defeats him in human to Pokémon combat, earning its respect. Tyrogue and his other wild Pokémon friends join Kiyo's team.
