Release information

This card was included in the Team Rocket expansion with artwork by Shin-ichi Yoshida, first released in the Japanese Rocket Gang expansion. An Unnumbered Promotional print featuring different artwork by Ken Sugimori was available as an insert with the third volume of Pokémon Card Fan Club, released on November 18, 1997. This print features Giovanni in the illustration. It was reprinted as a Wizards Black Star Promo, with Giovanni removed from the artwork, and released as an insert in the August 2000 issue of Nintendo Power magazine. Unknown quantities of this print were erroneously printed without HP. The Team Rocket print was reprinted in the Legendary Collection as a Holofoil card.

Trivia

  • The Nintendo Power insert erroneously states that Dark Persian is a Basic Pokémon.
  • The Japanese Unnumbered Promotional print features the Rocket Gang symbol, indicating that it is a promotional addition to the expansion.

Origin

Fascinate and Tempt's Japanese names are that of Captivate, a move later introduced in the Generation IV Pokémon games that Persian can learn.
