Release information
This card was included in the Ancient Origins expansion with artwork by TOKIYA, first released in the Japanese Bandit Ring expansion. An XY Black Star Promotional print of this card, with new artwork by the same illustrator, was the Prerelease promo for the Ancient Origins expansion. A print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was given to those overseeing the event. In Japan, this print was released as an unnumbered XY-P Promotional card and given to players who participated in the Gyarados Battle, held at participating Pokémon Centers on August 22 and 23, 2015 in commemoration of the opening of Pokémon Center Hiroshima. The top players at each event were also awarded a Red Gyarados medal.
