Trivia
This card has been banned from all sanctioned Pokémon TCG tournaments using the Expanded format since October 4, 2019 in Japan and November 15, 2019 internationally as it was ruled to create an unbalanced playing environment. The specific concern was a specific combo in Japanese tournaments with the help of Mismagius' Ability that dwindled the opponent's hand up to no cards on their first turn. It was additionally banned from the Standard format from August 28, 2020 outside Japan and from September 1 in Japan. In response to the ban, The Pokémon Company created a new Mismagius card that was eventually distributed as a S-P Promo from October 10, 2020, making it and Bellelba & Brycen-Man the first cards to be replaced in such a manner.
Origin
Hypnoblast is an attack that first appeared on Rocket's Mewtwo from Gym Challenge. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
