Release information
This card was released as a Cosmos Holofoil SWSH Black Star Promo and was available in the Darkness Ablaze Single Pack Blisters from August 14, 2020. In Japan, it was one of seven S-P Promotional cards available in Pokémon Card Gym Promo Card Pack 1, which was distributed at Pokémon Card Gym venues between December 6, 2019 and February 28, 2020. The Japanese print is numbered 024/S-P, is Non Holofoil, and features the Pokémon Card Gym logo.
A Sequin Holofoil variant of the SWSH Black Star Promo print was available in every General Mills 25th Anniversary Mini Pack, which was included in specially-branded cereals from February 27, 2021 in celebration of the franchise's 25th Anniversary. This print also features the 25th anniversary logo in the bottom left corner of the artwork. In Japan, another S-P Promotional print was released as part of the Lawson V Start Campaign, which began on August 28, 2020. Customers at participating Lawson stores who purchased at least three Pokémon TCG products in one transaction (including at least one V Starter Deck) would receive a special pack containing one of five possible cards.[1] The promotion ran for as long as stocks lasted. This print is numbered 132/S-P and lacks any additional logos.
