Team Poképals (Japanese: ポケダンズ Pokédans) is the main team in the anime specials Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky - Beyond Time & Darkness.

History

The two main Pokémon of the team are Piplup and Chimchar. Piplup, however, is a human who was turned into a Pokémon, and was at first reluctant to be in an exploration team.

Although not part of Team Poképals, Sunflora from the Wigglytuff Guild accompanied them on their first mission in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. Team Poképals also appeared alongside Grovyle in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky - Beyond Time and Darkness.

Team Poképals appeared in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness. In this version, Chimchar is the human-turned-Pokémon instead of Piplup, and Piplup is replaced by Turtwig.

Trivia

• The name Poképals is the default name for the player's team in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky.
  • Likewise, in the Japanese version of the games, the name Pokédans (ポケダンズ) is the default name.
• Turtwig is the only Sinnoh first partner Pokémon that isn't in Team Poképals.
  • However, one special manga featured Chimchar and Turtwig as his partner.
