Release information
This card was included in the English Phantom Forces expansion, first released in the Japanese Phantom Gate expansion. An unnumbered XY-P Promotional print was given to players who won two consecutive battles in the Victory Battle Gym MIX event held as part of the Battle Festa 2014. The Battle Festa 2014 was held at five locations across Japan: ACT CITY Hamamatsu Exhibition Event Hall, Shizuoka on October 26, 2014; Sunshine City Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo on the weekend of November 1-2, 2014; Kumamoto City Distribution and Information Hall, Kumamoto on November 9, 2014; Intex Osaka, Osaka on November 16, 2014; and Dream Messe Miyagi, Sendai on November 24, 2014. This card was reprinted again in Japan as part of the M Master Deck Build Box Power Style, released on August 7, 2015.
During the Sun & Moon Era in Japan, this card was reprinted in The Best of XY subset.
Trivia
Origin
Substitute is a move in the Pokémon games. The robot in the illustration is similar to the decoy that appears when Substitute is used, while the visor worn by the robot is that worn by Lysandre. It bears the Team Flare logo on its chest.
