Release information
This tag was available as part of a giveaway campaign, during which tags depicting Pokémon belonging to Liko and Roy from Pokémon Horizons: The Series were available. Starting July 15, 2023, visitors of participating stores with a Pokémon Mezastar machine that said "please give me a Mezastar tag!" to staff were given a copy of this tag while stocks lasted. Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores were specifically excluded from the campaign.[1] The tag features a QR code that led to a campaign page on the Official Pokémon Mezastar website.[2]
It was also available in a gift set given away at malls hosting the Coro Tour 2023, which was held on July 23, 30, August 6, 13, 20, and 27, 2023. The gift set also included a Comprehensive How-to-Play Book and a Trial Memory tag. Gift sets were limited to children of junior high school age and below. Children at these events could try Get in Battle! mode or Get Now! mode and distribute one tag for free, as well as have the chance to participate in a photo session with Mezastar Navigators present. All machines used in the tour ran Double Chain set 5.[3] It was available again in another gift set distributed at Get in Battle Free Trial Special Edition ~Dark Terastal Charizard Challenge~ in Yokohama events, which were present at two locations during August 2023. One event was held at Bandai Namco Cross Store Yokohama between August 9 and 14, while another was held at Pacifco Yokohama between August 11 and 13 during the 2023 World Championships.[4] This gift set included the same items available during the Coro Tour 2023 in addition to a tag-shaped uchiwa (fan) featuring a Charizard design.
More Battle Free Trial Special Edition ~Dark Terastal Charizard Challenge~ events were held as part of the Autumn Mezastar Festa 2023, which was present at ÆON Mall Sapporo Hassamu, Sapporo on September 17, 2023; at ÆON Mall Fukuoka, Fukuoka on September 24, 2023; at ÆON Mall Ibaraki, Osaka on October 22, 2023; at ÆON Mall Makuhari New City, Chiba on October 29, 2023; and at ÆON Mall Toyokawa, Toyokawa on November 5, 2023.[5] The gift set given away at these locations was the same as the one available during the Coro Tour 2023.
A transparent purple version of this tag was one of a six-piece set available as part of a gift campaign held in conjunction with the Japanese broadcast of an anime episode on July 14, 2023.[6] People wishing to participate were required to enter their details on the TV Tokyo campaign page along with the keyword displayed during the episode. The entry period was open until the broadcast of an anime episode on July 21, 2023. All valid applications were entered into a lottery to win one of fifty tag sets mounted in an acrylic frame plus a copy of a Koraidon, Miraidon & Pikachu Star Pokémon Set. Winners were scheduled to receive their prizes by the end of September 2023.[7]
The tag was subsequently available as part of three more events that began in late 2023. The first of these was a tour that celebrated the 3rd anniversary of the Mezastar TV YouTube channel, which ran on specific days between November 23, 2023 and Janury 28, 2024 at store chains designated a "Mezastar City". People visiting a store while the tour was present could claim a free gift set and engage with one of the Pokémon Navigators scheduled to appear.[8] This gift set was the same as the one available during the Coro Tour 2023. The next event was the Amusement Expo in Tokyo Big Sight, which was held on November 25, 2023. People visiting the Mezastar Corner could obtain this tag for as long as stocks lasted.[9] The final event of 2023 to distribute this tag was the official opening ceremony of Mezastar Forest, which was held at ÆON Mall Nogata, Fukuoka on December 16 and 17. All visitors were given a gift set comprising a copy of this tag, a Keldeo tag, a Comprehensive How-to-Play Book, and a Trial Memory tag for as long as stocks lasted.[10]
