Release information

This card was included as both a Regular card and a Full Art card in the Black & White expansion, first released in the Japanese White Collection. Both prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics. It was later released alongside Reshiram as one of the BW Black Star Promos with English-exclusive artwork by the same artist, available in the New Legends Tins in May 2011.

It was reprinted as one of the BW Black Star Promos with different artwork also by 5ban Graphics, available in the Zekrom Box in October 2011. In Japan, this print was included as a BW-P Promotional card in the Zekrom Special Trunk Set. It was reprinted again as a BW-P Promotional card released with the Japanese Battle Gift Set: Thundurus vs Tornadus. This print was subsequently included in the Next Destinies expansion, with a Tinsel Holofoil variant included in the Voltage Vortex Theme Deck.

The White Collection Full Art print was reprinted with an embossed gold foil "15th Anniversary" stamp in the Pokémon Card Game 15th Anniversary Premium Set, alongside Reshiram, as well as two sets of 65 card sleeves, a special coin emblazoned with "The 15th Anniversary Limited Edition", a set of acrylic damage and status counters, and two playmats.

The Black & White Regular print was later reprinted in the Japanese Master Deck Build Box EX, released on September 14th, 2012. Another two prints were included in the Japanese EX Battle Boost: a Regular print with artwork by Kagemaru Himeno, and an entirely gold Full Art Secret print with artwork by 5ban Graphics. These two prints were later included in the Legendary Treasures expansion.

The Black & White Full Art print was rereleased in the Celebrations expansion's Classic Collection for the Pokémon 25th Anniversary. This print features the 25th Anniversary logo. In Japan, it was reprinted as part of the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition with a red and gold "25th" logo. Both prints are Confetti Holofoil.

Trivia

The first English promotional print of this card is abnormally numbered BW005, containing one extra zero, instead of matching the two-digit numbering style of the other BW Black Star Promos. It shares this trait with Reshiram.

Origin

Outrage and Bolt Strike are both moves in the Pokémon games that Zekrom can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon White.
