Certain [[sync pair]]s, including some {{pkmn|Trainer}}s that do not have [[Key Stone]]s in the [[core series]], Mega Evolve their Pokémon using their [[sync stone]]. This occurs immediately before the sync pair uses their [[sync move]] for the first time each battle. After Mega Evolving, their sync partner will receive a stat boost, typically split between two stats, that adds up to a 40% (×1.4) increase. The sync pair will sometimes have different [[move]]s and [[passive skill]]s for the rest of the battle. As a trade-off, most sync pairs that Mega Evolve have a sync move that is weaker than usual—160 base power instead of the usual 200 or 250. [[Arc suit]] sync pairs that can Mega Evolve do not have weakened sync moves, and their Pokémon gets a 10% boost to all their stats (excluding HP), for a total stat increase of 50%.
