Spellings

Just want to let you know that you have a few misspellings on the page Vast Ice Mountain. - unsigned comment from Mudkipluvr4ever (talkcontribs)

I didn't create the page. All I did was clean it up and fix the spelling. Look in the page history to see who really created it. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 20:56, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Cartoon Network Video

Just so you know, several season-one episodes are missing from Cartoon Network Video. Knowing which episodes are missing might help you with your research. They are as follows:

Bulbasaur's Mysterious Garden isn't missing, but it's placed where The Path to the Pokémon League should be for some strange reason. The two episodes after that by Japanese count are also not missing; since those two episodes started season two in the dub after a little reordering (the dub skipped from EP051 to EP054 and ended season one with EP057, then started season two with EP052/EP053 before returning to sequence in EP058), those two episodes are found with the rest of season two.

Also note that, of the two seasons Cartoon Network uploaded to the video service in mass, only season one (labelled as Indigo League in the left side menu once the Pokémon tab is open) has missing episodes. Season two (labelled as Adventures on the Orange Islands, the label itself has an error in it) is available in its entirety; meaning you can safely get up to Charizard Chills (the last episode of season two) without speed bumps. Anything in the Orange Islands beyond that, and you'll have to hope Cartoon Network uploads season three. --Shiningpikablu252 19:52, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for giving me this information, this will probably help my research a lot. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 20:24, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

About spoiler links

Yeah, I'm sorry about those links, I understand perfectly what you mean. I can explain: the thing is following: I don't like (you could even say "I hate") links that are rediredted, so I prefer the links that take you straightly to the page, not through redirection. I hope you understand what I mean. --FinnishPokéFan92 19:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
PS. Happy new year 2010.

It creates spoilers. If you see here, it says to do it in the Manual of Style, meaning that it must be done. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 19:25, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
There is nothing wrong with redirects, as long as they will stay at that page name and not give a double redirect further down the track. /2c —darklordtrom 22:04, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
If there is nothing wrong with them, why do many people try to fix them? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 23:22, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
It looks better to have perfect linking, apparently. —darklordtrom 21:01, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Regarding the redirect

I know what it said, but think about it. Victory Road isn't a part of Johto. Also, even if the redirect were to be made, Johto should be capitalized. ht14 16:13, 2 January 2010 (UTC)

True, but some people might make the mistake of thinking it's in Johto due to it being in GSCHGSS. Also, the Johto capitalization thing was something I missed. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 16:15, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
View everything on the whole! That's what I try to think. ht14 16:16, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
It is the same victory road as Kanto's, so the redirect makes sense. And it was my idea, so don't harrass Turtwig A!!! SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 16:28, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Not quite stubs, but something is lacking...

Would it be logical to create a template--like the template used to classify articles for being stubs--that designates book articles as needing pictures of their covers (or otherwise stating that the article 'is lacking important pictures'?) Several books appear to lack pictures of their covers, most notably the book Battle for the Zephyr Badge. Along this, should location stubs possess a similar 'this article needs pictures', to provide a picture of the area described? For example, the article for Sayda Island does not have a picture. - unsigned comment from Steph (talkcontribs)

(Err, sorry I did not sign my earlier statement...I seemed to have forgotten...I will sign this one, which I hope shall partially suffice as it was made near the initial post...)Steph 03:26, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
It's fine! Everybody sometimes forgets to sign. CuboneKing 03:34, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
You should ask an administrator this question, though it seems like a good idea. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 15:46, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
BUTTING IN BUT RELATED: I'm gonna fiddle around with the book infobox tonight and see if I can make "preceded/succeeded" an optional parameter... see I made the infobox back when there were like, 5 book articles and I didn't forsee, y'know, non-anime-chapter-book-books. :P ZestyCactus 01:17, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
There is also a working example here. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:18, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I took a look at yours, it looks great so far, although I might add some coding that hides the "previous/next" from appearing if it's not relevant. Would that be ok? ZestyCactus 01:27, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't really care if anyone edits my userpages unless it's one of my personal ones. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:28, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I got it working except the "Previous" paramater shows up weird on the pages. ANYONE WANNA FIX IT?! I can't figure out what's wrong with it ;_; in the meantime, we can update the rest of the pages with the new infobox. ZestyCactus 01:48, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Like I said, Immewnity's got one that is working. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Good, because mine kept screwing up so I gave up. 0_0 sorry for wasting so much time guys... haha if you don't mind finishing this you can keep tweaking it ^^' I am sooo sorry! ZestyCactus 01:54, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
I used the working example and all that's needed now is for someone to update the pages. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:59, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

I saw it, and thought it was what the prototype to the one we have now. I thought maybe you created it, and forgot that the original was still in your space. Obviously, i didn't look that well. My mistake. Sorry. MaverickNate 01:22, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Project Walkthrough

So sad to hear you're quitting I hope that a leader will be recruited soon. But the really reason why I am contacting you is that I am at least planning to work on creating structure rules for the project check out the current state of the project on the talk page and if you have any ideas be happy to contribute. -Tyler53841 20:36, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't have any ideas. I'll probably rejoin if the style is changed to be consistent, as that is the main reason I quit, but there should be different styles for different series (Mystery Dungeon, Ranger, main series). I chose the Project Leader reason only because it encompassed all of my reasons for quitting. This has nothing to do with style, but I think there should also be Trozei!, Puzzle League and Challenge, the TCG video games, Poképark Wii, Hey You Pikachu! (if there is even a storyline. I remember there being missions, so the walkthrough could be divided by location), Pokémon Channel (same as Hey You Pikachu!) Mystery Dungeon Wiiware, the Pinball (same thing as Hey You! Pikachu), Stadium series (Gym Leader Tower), and Snap (same thing as Hey You Pikachu) walkthroughs, as well as other games that don't have walkthroughs. For in the informing of Turtwig A

There's probably been the 'lag' in book articles because I have yet to acquire one of the ones that Bulbapedia needs an article for. Once I find one--or several--there should be a proper 'surge'. Additionally, you might want to consult the leader of Project Pokédex (or update it yourself), as the 'Add Biology information for Gen. I through Gen. III' objective surely (from my efforts, Physiology-section-wise) has progressed closer to its target number. Or, at least, '380 left except for minor edits' should be lower to...perhaps 320? Steph 01:13, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I can understand that. But for the book articles seemingly not being edited at all seemed very eerie. Also, Pokédex doesn't have a leader, as well as Fandom, GlitchDex, ItemDex, TFG, Walkthroughs, and Merchandise (I want to get this position though). Why not update it yourself? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:17, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Because I am under the impression that you possess more authority (or seniority) to do it, and are thus more befitting. Besides, you have an award. That would certainly garner your authority-of-knowledge and privilege to edit to-do lists. Of course, this could all be just babble about my own contrived policies, so I could do it myself if you insist I do.
True, you would be good as a leader for project Pokédex, although as you claim to not edit the Biology sections much, in some contexts you would be better for the leader of Project Merchandise--co-led with Zesty Cactus, of course. Steph 01:29, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I don't think I'm fitting for Project Pokédex. This is possibly the biggest project, covering the most important pages, the species pages. This means that it should be led by an admin. The award I won because I generally edit every place, Merchandise is just where I edit the most. Besides, that's only 3rd best overall. Another thing, I've only been on Bulbapedia since the start of August (August 1st 2009 to be exact), meaning that I won't ask for the position until next month, when I've been on Bulbapedia for 6 months. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:36, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I have now been able to find the 'ani-manga' book for Mewtwo Strikes Back that I have mentioned some time ago. Indeed, it is only one issue---the fourth, but I do hope even that will be helpful. Specifically, the title appears to be (but may be shortened appropriately in reference) Pokémon: The First Movie Animation Comics (below and to the right) Mewtwo Strikes Back (part) 4. A spiky blurb on the front says 'The Final Battle!' (so this may be useful as an official name for each individual issue, like each round in Pokémon Adventures has a differentiating title--or something like that), although the inside cover says Mewtwo Strikes Back: Chapter 4: Mew vs. Mewtwo. Steph 18:43, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
I think that is very helpful. This information could possibly make the article no longer a stub. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 22:18, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Should I make a Synopsis for the book (for the fourth volume, more specifically, as I only possess that)? I have already started a synopsis for the fourth volume up to page 17 (about two-fifths into the fourth chapter), so what would you think of this? Steph 22:57, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Yes. The main part of these books with a plot are the synopses. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 22:58, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
I have added the synopsis for the book. Could you add links and, if needed, some stylization editing? (incidentally, I am glad I am fast at typing. Only forty-one pages or not, with large pictures in a comic format, that was...well, rather long. Steph 23:49, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

(resetting indent) It is a big accomplishment. If you think that's hard try some of the books in the anime novelization series. They encompass 3 anime episodes. Books are generally harder to provide synopses from because they are already written. This means that you have to reword the book to avoid legal issues. Also, I think you would be good in helping this. The only way to get verified information on those games is by the websites in the "external links" section. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:29, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

I do not mean it is hard, just long. I have tried doing one of the anime novelizations---and failed, which is why I refrain from attempting to add synopses to books that are more than forty pages long (technically, the book was forty-one pages long, but I could handle it...). Incidentally, is the number of pages a book has actually worth noting, or worth becoming standard? I ask this because Splashdown in Cerulean City lists the number of pages it has, but not all books do, so I wonder if it is needed for all the books. As for your article on the online games of Pokémon.com, (or should I say Pokemon.com...) I cannot locate any sources of information not already involved.
Speaking of pages of things like that....would it be worthwhile to make a page of 'Food in Pokémon/food in the Pokémon World', since I have compiled a list of various non-Berry foods in the series to myself that are not necessarily exclusive to Pokémon consumption. For example--in Great Bowls of Fire, it appears that Dragonite gives Team Rocket pears---obviously, they have to be pears, because not only were Aspear berries not invented in that time but the 'pears' lack spots, as well as peaches (they were in a scene in Pokémon 4-ever, yes?), what appears to be the same kind of leek as that Farfetch'd carries (poking out of Nurse Joy's grocery bag in Hour of the Houndour), etc., or is this not notable or only notable as Trivia in their respective episode sources? Steph 00:57, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
I guess it is worth noting, as I put that there. Why not just do it in multiple edits, like I did with Splashdown in Cerulean City. I don't mean locate sources. I meant that the best source was those in the bottom of the article. I think that it would make a good article, but you should get someone else's opinion as I've only been on bulbapedia for about 5.5 months. There was also a lot of food in Pallet Party Panic. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 01:43, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Link templates: upper vs lower case

Why does it matter which case I use? I find it MUCH easier to just hold the Shift key and press [[p\ (which of course makes {{P|) instead of holding Shift, pressing [ twice, releasing Shift, pressing p, then holding Shift again for the next character. Zurqoxn 16:07, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't really matter, but I prefer to see them lower case as it is like that more than upper case. I'll stop doing it if you are annoyed, though. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 23:37, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Fixes

next time you fix a mess where someone clearly doesnt know how to edit (like not using link templates), i would appreciate if you in-turn warn them of their wrong doing. -- MAGNEDETH 21:21, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'll do that next time. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 21:28, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

New large redirect project

It appears that there are a LOT of links to the redirect "PP". It needs to be changed to Power points. There are so many links to it, probably more than there were on "Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2". You did great on that project, which is why I want you to help me on this one. Thanks, CuboneKing 20:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

All the links are due to a template, I think (based on what links to it). It won't be that big of a deal. MaverickNate 20:38, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm done fixing redirects, due to this. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 21:44, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Unsigned

Remember to subst it. So, {{subst:unsigned}} instead of {{unsigned}}. ht14 02:58, 30 January 2010 (UTC)

When did I put the template? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 02:59, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Since when is it supposed to be substd? MaverickNate 03:05, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I heard it was, and thus I followed it... ht14 03:07, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Isn't that rule outdated? I know it was once true but I heard now it doesn't have to be substed. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 03:08, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Outdated. Normal inclusion is fine for the unsigned template. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 03:19, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Why was it supposed to be like that before? Was it because of server problems? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 03:20, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I believe it was for the same idea as the welcome template. Any update would cause mass server strain due to having to update all inclusions. However, there should never be any need to change the unsigned template, so the issue isn't there. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 03:23, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
I remember somebody saying that we needed to use 'subst' in the unsigned, but nobody ever was, and nothing else was said about it. So I figured it wasn't something that was strictly enforced, if at all. R.A. Hunter Blade 05:35, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Great... x.x ht14 23:59, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Weird, I just logged on and I just get a message on my talk page. Anyways, is it still allowed to be substed? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 00:01, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

How does one make a sandbox?

I would like to make an article for the High Voltage Collection of Pokémon Johto League Champions VHS series, however I am reluctant to put it immediately into the mainspace (for fear it might be deleted). Thus, could you instruct me on how to create a 'sandbox' for usage to add some information into it, so I may find out if it is worthy of mainspace transfer without the possible disparagement of deletion? So to speak, I want to replicate the manner in which you first created the 'Pokémon Merchandise' article, with my hopes it would be useful enough to transfer into mainspace. Steph 18:23, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

I'll answer that for you, becuase I don't think Wig A is online. User:Steph/Sandbox or User:Steph/<BOOKNAME>, create it at one of those. CuboneKing 18:26, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Additions and Revisions

Hi Turtwig A.! I'm new to the Bulbapedia community, and I added information to the Special Abilities Sections on Golduck's page, and you deleted it, saying that had no sources- I read the information that I got from the Pokémon Adventures Manga-- A website called www.onemanga.com. I can be more specific if needed, I got the information Here:
http://www.onemanga.com/Pokemon_Special/28/13/
http://www.onemanga.com/Pokemon_Special/52/06/
but my question for you, is how do I go about siting my information??

Thanks for your time.--survive 23:01, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

That is done by putting <ref>[http://www(or anything else).<insertwebsitehere>.com/net/org.</ref> and then putting {{reflist}} where you want the cite listed.. If you were wondering, I reverted the edit because you didn't actually give a source. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 23:05, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
