Hello, and welcome to my user page. I am Kogoro, the Editor-in-Chief of Bulbapedia and leader of the Bulbagarden Archives. If you have any concerns or questions regarding Bulbapedia or the Bulbagarden Archives, feel free to leave me a message. Keep in mind there are many other staff members that can answer many questions, and they all are happy to help address the concerns of our users and viewers.
Me & Pokémon
I have been a fan of Pokémon since the days of Generation I, Red and Blue, the original series of the Pokémon anime, and the good ol' Base Set, Jungle Set, and Fossil Set of the TCG. My first experience with Pokémon came with the Kids' WB! airings of the anime. I became a fan of the Pokémon games when a friend of mine had brought his Game Boy and his copy of Pokémon Red to school. Very shortly after that day, I too had a copy of Pokémon Red and was well on my way to becoming a Pokémon Master!
My first encounter with the TCG was also at school. While wandering around the schoolyard, I noticed some other kids with cards that appeared to have a Poké Ball on their reverse side. With a fair bit of curiosity, I went over to see what they were doing, and they were trading Pokémon cards. Naturally, I began talking with them about Pokémon and the cards they were trading. An extremely generous member of the group gave me two cards, copies of Jigglypuff and Rhydon, which I still own to this day. Those two cards started what can only be called a collection "spree" that has lasted many years and will continue for many years to come. However, there has been the rare missed TCG set, generally due to severe difficulty obtaining any booster packs from those sets.
Bulbagarden
I joined Bulbapedia on May 2, 2008 after multiple months of lurking and reading articles. I've currently made over 15,000 total edits to Bulbapedia over all namespaces. I have worked on and started quite a few large-scale projects in my many years here. Some notable projects include: Uploading TCG scans, fixing transparency issues of Pokémon sprites, and countless template upgrades & applications. If you happen to be able to help in any major projects, please do so! Helping out is always welcome and greatly encouraged.
On December 9, 2008, I was made an administrator after a successful nomination. On March 15, 2009, I was given a promotion to the level of bureaucrat. On May 3, 2009, I was invited to the Editorial Board by Bulbapedia's third Editor-in-Chief, TTEchidna. On December 16, 2011, I became the leader of the Bulbagarden Archives. Most recently, on February 17, 2014, I succeeded Werdnae as Bulbapedia's Editor-in-Chief.
Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship, Bulbapedia. Its continuing mission: to explore strange new regions, to seek out new Pokémon and win new badges, to boldly go where no trainer has gone before!
