Indigo Plateau
Indigo Plateau

The Indigo Plateau serves as the capital for the Pokémon League. It is the final destination for Pokémon Trainers competing in Indigo or Johto League competitions against the Elite Four. This is the where the powerful Elite Four battle against Trainers in a final showdown of becoming a master Pokémon trainer, who may be challenged after defeating of all eight Gym Leaders of each respective region. In the anime, it is also the location of the Indigo Plateau Conference, Kanto Grand Festival and the Pokémon League Village.

The Indigo Plateau is located just north of Victory Road, and east of Mt. Silver. In Generation I and III, the only way to reach the Indigo Plateau is by going through Route 23; however, in Generation II and IV, the Indigo Plateau can be reached by going through Route 26. In order to reach Indigo Plateau by foot, Trainers must venture through Victory Road, a lengthy cave acting as a final test for Trainers.

Hello everyone,

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the launch of Bulbapedia, the world's largest Pokémon wiki!

When the Bulbagarden team decided to launch a Wikipedia-style Pokémon database two decades ago, there were just shy of 400 species, three Generations of grid-based main series titles, and Ash Ketchum was exploring the Hoenn region with his friends. When the wiki launched there were just 114 articles, but now Bulbapedia has over 56,000 articles on a huge range of Pokémon topics, with over 50 million visits every month. The franchise has grown in unbelievable scope since those early days, and we've been keeping pace the entire time to be of best service to you, our amazing users and fellow Pokémon fans.

We've taken advantage of this date to reveal some wiki changes that you may have already noticed! The Main Page has had a significant restructuring to put the most important content for users and editors front and center. We've also used this opportunity to refresh the articles that detail our history: please take a peek at the Bulbapedia, Bulbapedia:Statistics, and all the other related pages that tell our story. More updates are in the pipeline; some of them are pretty huge, so stay tuned!

For our editors out there, we've installed a few useful extensions to make your editing experience that much better. Introducing DiscussionTools! This new extension provides an advanced Talk Page experience, allowing users to easily create, participate, and follow specific discussions with just a few simple clicks. Subscribing to a discussion will send updates straight to your Notifications in the top right of your current page. Among those Notifications, you may now find that someone has Thanked you! On the Recent Changes and page histories, fellow editors can now thank each other for the edits they make. Goodness gracious! Now, this Thanks may not provide a Shop Ticket like Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket, but we hope it can still bring that sweet sense of accomplishment.

And for our followers, check out the Bulbagarden and Bulbapedia socials for some fantastic celebratory artwork, and the Bulbagarden Twitch channel for an anniversary charity stream in support of cancer care and research.

We'd like to extend a warm and genuine thanks to all our users, contributors and staff who've supported this huge project over two decades. We really couldn't have done it without you.

Here's to the next 20 years, and the next 1,000 Pokémon!
