HAL Laboratory, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社ハル研究所) is a video game developer. It was founded on February 21, 1980. Its former President was Satoru Iwata, CEO and President of Nintendo. The company has been involved in large projects such as the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. series. It employs around 106 employees and has made games for the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube and more recently the DS and Wii.
