VIZ Media has started a "second series" with this volume, publishing the Diamond & Pearl arc concurrently with older volumes from the Gold, Silver & Crystal arc, using this volume as #1 of the second series. Although it is unknown why they decided to release a second series (most likely to catch up with the series quicker), the reason behind why they are calling the Diamond & Pearl arc "Diamond, Pearl and Platinum" (unlike in Japan, where D/P and Platinum are two separate chapters entirely) is most likely due to the fact that there is another Pokémon manga released by VIZ Media entitled Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!, which may have caused confusion if they had titled the second series "Pokémon Adventures: Diamond & Pearl".
