Release information
This card was released in the English Base Set, originating from the Japanese Expansion Pack. It was included in the Trainer Deck A, a deck given to prototype Pokémon Leagues before the TCG's official North American release. This print has a red border and "Trainer Deck A" printed on the back. It was later reprinted in the English Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection expansions.
Trivia
Origin
Super Fang is a move in the Pokémon games which Raticate can learn and which cuts the opponent's remaining HP in half. Bite is also a move in the Pokémon games, but Raticate could not learn it until Generation II, via breeding. The card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
