(→‎Marieanie's Gender: Can we please ever get to a point where we stop needing to have this argument every time a new Pokemon is introduced in the anime? Honestly, this is ridiculous.)

Spike Cannon and Sludge Bomb?

Serebii lists these moves as Pin Missile and Poison Sting. I know Serebii isn't a reliable source, but I am curious where this differentiation in information comes from and if anyone can/needs to double-check. Nutter Butter (talk) 17:54, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, I usually check the moves listed there and there is usually at least one mistake posted there. James called out for Spike Cannon and the Sludge Bomb move looks exactly the same as it was in the previous two series and I don't think Mareanie can learn Mud Shot or Mud Bomb. Marieanie's Gender

Meowth said that Marianie found James "Handsome" (Ikemen) on top of being clearly attracted to him. Not saying it absolutely confirms Mareanie's gender, but put a pin in that statement for now. Kohdok (talk) 19:00, 27 January 2017 (UTC)

This argument has played out on an inordinate amount of talk pages over the years, and it's not constructive to go through the whole song and dance all over again when it's not going to change anything. Bulbapedia has specific standards for determining anime Pokemon genders. Period. Implications, suggestions and "obviousness" don't matter unless those specific standards are met: explicit statement of the gender either in dialogue or by use of Attract.
