'''Hello to all visitors to Fushigipedia''', your home on the world wide web for all things relating to the Pocket Monster games, as well as the Japanese animated series, manga and collectible card game. It's an exciting time for fans of our favorite series, with the recent announcement of an American release for Pocket Monster Red and Blue Versions. The Japanese anime has been on hiatus recently, [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/40269.stm {{color|00D900|for reasons you may have read about in the news}}], but it is scheduled to return in just a few weeks with brand new episodes!

New visitors may well be asking: "What is Fushigipedia?" Fushigipedia is part of the Fushigidane's Mysterious Flower Garden network of internet sites. Put simply, Fushigipedia is the world wide web's number one resource for Pocket Monster information! Those of you already enjoying the Japanese-language games will no doubt appreciate Fushigipedia's detailed articles on all 150 (+1) Pokémon, as well as the games' many techniques, places and items. But what makes Fushigipedia special is this: ''it's the encyclopedia that you can edit!''

Unfortunately, you can't edit it right ''now'', due to the sudden influx of information about the English-language games. We're getting more hits than ever before, and it's been taxing our server to the limit, and so we have had to turn off editing for the time being. Don't worry, though: next month we plan to upgrade the server with a whopping 256MB of RAM, so we don't foresee this being a problem ever again.

For any suggestions, comments or feedback, you can visit the Fushigipedia section of the forums '''or''' our chatroom. Thanks for visiting our little home on the web, and let's all look forward to playing Red and Blue in English!

The '''Game Boy''' (Japanese: '''ゲームボーイ''' ''Game Boy''), [[Nintendo|{{color|00D900|Nintendo}}]]'s flagship handheld console, was first released in 1989, and even today, nine years later, is the best selling handheld console of all time. Welcome to Bulbapedia!
the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
001Bulbasaur.png

Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia about Pokémon to which anyone can contribute. Since its launch in February 2005, it has grown to become one of the largest Pokémon resources on the internet. As part of Bulbagarden, this ever-growing wiki is supported by the Bulbagarden Archives, the Bulbagarden forums and the Bulbagarden Discord. You're welcome to browse for a while, if you wish, or make an account to start editing pages.

We have 53,852 articles on a range of Pokémon-related topics.

If you have any questions, first see the FAQ page. If this doesn't help, find an active staff member. They'll point you in the right direction.

Message from the Editor
September 20 043

Hello! This message is for all Nintendo fans out there.

September 20th starts Cross-Wiki Week! What is Cross-Wiki Week? It's an annual event hosted by the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance to encourage collaboration across all of our NIWA wiki partners! This 10-day event (spanning two weekends) aims for editors to contribute to franchises outside of their normal activity. For full details, visit the official event page here.

We encourage everyone to give it a try, even if it's only a few edits!

For participating editors:

 • When trying out a new wiki, be sure to check their policies and guidelines on how to help.
 • Use the hashtag #cww in your edit summaries for a chance to win a Nintendo eShop card! Two winners will be drawn.

For those new to Bulbapedia, please check out the Cross-Wiki Week landing page, the Editor's Hub, and the Bulletin Board for ways to help out. We look forward to seeing the expertise you bring to our Pokémon encyclopedia.

This year, the primary focus is on editing wikis you don't usually edit. Make sure to branch out! With many recent game releases and re-releases on Nintendo Switch Online, this is a great time to ensure those smaller franchises get the attention they deserve.

Good luck and happy editing!

Maverick Nate
Editor-in-Chief, Bulbapedia
