Release information
This card was released as a SWSH Black Star Promo to celebrate the launch of the official Pokémon Center online store in the United Kingdom. People wishing to receive a copy were required to submit their details on a dedicated registration website; valid applicants received a one-time use code via email that could be redeemed with an eligible purchase on region-specific Pokémon Center online stores.[1] The registration website opened on July 11, 2022 at 12:30 PM ET and was open to residents of the United States, Canada (except Quebec), and the United Kingdom. It was scheduled to close either on August 23, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET or when all allocated codes had been claimed[2]—all were claimed by July 14. Codes were distributed in waves to eligible entrants within 12 weeks of entry.[1] A generic code was sent to some entrants on July 29 in error;[3] the first wave of live codes began to be received in early August. Codes could then be used in conjunction with any purchase worth at least $20 USD (before taxes), $20 CAD (excluding GST), or £20 GBP (inclusive of VAT) from region-specific Pokémon Center online stores. Codes were valid until December 31, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET.[1]
Trivia
The first acknowledgement of this card was in the Sword & Shield Series Player's Guide, released as part of the Sword & Shield Ultra-Premium Collection—Zacian & Zamazenta, as well as the Zacian and Zamazenta versions of the Sword & Shield Elite Trainer Box Plus. Based on the card's collection number and year of copyright, it is likely it was intended for distribution in 2020 but delayed to avoid a similar influx of orders to those placed during the distribution of Special Delivery Pikachu. Numerous copies were accidentally shipped with Pokémon Center orders in May and June 2021.[4]
Origin
Happy Delivery is an attack that first appeared on Delibird from Lost Thunder. Flamethrower is a move in the Pokémon games that Charizard can learn. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
