Lugia suddenly appears and compliments them on their discovery, and gives them the option to be spared but kept on the island or to die with it in the lava beneath the island on their feet. Gold refuses to be kept on the island, as Ampharos needs the medicine. Lugia crushes the island. Gold tells Remoraid and Croconaw to use Water Gun on their feet. Chris tries to help with Wooper. Suddenly, Lugia to their surprise is lying unharmed. It is revealed that the "Lugia" they battled was illusionary. Slowking reveals that the place is subterranean and that Lugia keeps the island standing. Lugia also explains that it guards the island and that it is unwell. It then offers them anything they want. They ask Lugia to bring them to Cianwood City. The illusionary Lugia carries them, as Lugia, Slowking, Blastoise and some Sunflora wave to them. Chris wonders if they will ever return to the Whirl Islands, and Gold wants to battle Lugia again in the future. | |||
