Flavor text Generation IV Raises Speed each time the Pokémon flinches. Generation V Raises Speed each time the Pokémon flinches. Generation VI Boosts the Speed stat each time the Pokémon flinches. Generation VII The Pokémon's determination boosts the Speed stat each time the Pokémon flinches. Generation VIII The Pokémon's determination boosts the Speed stat each time the Pokémon flinches. Generation IX The Pokémon's determination boosts its Speed stat every time it flinches.

Steadfast (Japanese: ふくつのこころ Indomitable Heart) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

In battle

Steadfast increases the Pokémon's Speed stat by one stage whenever it flinches. The Speed boost will only apply if the flinching message is displayed.

Outside of battle

Steadfast has no effect outside of battle.

In Pokémon UNITE, Steadfast is Lucario's Ability. When the user is at low HP, it gets a shield and increased movement speed.
