Splash and Teleport
I don't want to persuade anyone that we know Nebby didn't know Splash and Teleport as a Cosmog, but I doubt we know it did.
*Splash: Yes, Lillie commands it to use Splash in front of the Dimensional Research Lab. Nebby's reaction, however, is just "Pew?"
*Teleport: We see a light from Lillie's bag in the opening cutscene, and we have this in Lillie's diary:
::Nebby shone brighter than anything... And before I knew what had happened, we had found our way to meet Professor Burnet. But how did we get there? Is it some strange power that Nebby has? Did it do this?
When we look at Cosmog's moveset, yes, it's possible it knows Splash and Teleport. When seeing how Nebby has an unusual moveset when caught, however, I think it could also be some abstract mysterious power. :Considering that those are the only two moves that Cosmog can possibly learn, Nebby must know at least one of them... Since Lillie commanded Nebby to use Splash in game, and it's never stated that its teleportation power is Teleport, I'd say that's the most realistic option. --Celadonkey 22:09, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
::I'm hesitant on that line of logic, Celadonkey. You're making an assumption that a story-only NPC (which Nebby is, as a Cosmog) has to follow the same "must know at least one move" rule that battleable Pokémon must follow, but it's entirely possible that this is just a requirement of the battle system and not an intrinsic lore part of the Pokémon universe. And even if we say for the sake of argument that Nebby must know a move, Bulbapedia's standard is not to assume things, and we don't know for sure which move. I agree with Nescientist. :::That's fair. I mean, I don't really care too much on the subject, but I think that if we're accepting Hau's calling Meowth "Kantonian", I think we should accept Nebby being able to learn splash, or at least something like "Nebby is commanded to use Splash by Lillie". But like I said, this isn't gonna be an issue I'm going to argue about. --Celadonkey 11:10, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Internet meme
I figured this is worth bringing up since something similar exists on the page for Mudkip. Basically, like Mudkip, Nebby has become the source of an internet meme which in this case is "Get in the bag Nebby". So does anyone this is worth mentioning on the page? Like I said, I'm only bringing this up because of Mudkip and I honestly don't expect anyone to say yes. Flain
:I support this personally. It's relevant (as in when you think about Nebby people do think of the meme) and is a relatively popular Pokémon meme. We also have Youngster Joey's Rattata and Lavender Town in trivia as well. I just feel while notability is occasionally a good thing we risk omitting information that's true that some people may find interesting based on subjective notability criteria that varies from person to person. This said if we are too lax on notability it could lead to too much information being added to trivia but I feel Nebby in the bag is worth mentioning. --Chickasaurus (talk) 08:14, 24 March 2017 (UTC)
::I'm not really in the meme "scene" or anything, but as far as I know, Mudkip's meme has more or less earned/maintained its notoriety long since its main games came out. By contrast, I think it's not too surprising for a meme to be popular when it starts, like this Nebby meme, when SM has only been out for a few months. If it survives for a year or few, that's a bit more compelling.
::I'm not certain what Lavender Town trivia is being referred to. But the Joey trivia about "top percentage of Rattata" is absolutely nothing I've ever heard of (which, on the one hand, yeah, I don't know memes; but if I had heard of it, that would say a lot about it too).
