Plot
Plot
Inside Stark Mountain, it is collapsing from within as Charon of Team Galactic shouts at Heatran to bring forth destruction in the name of the new Team Galactic. However his two grunts quickly run away at the sight of an eruption with Charon hastily following after them upon nearly being crushed by a rock that got thrown towards him from the force of the eruption.
At Stark Mountain, Team Galactic Commander Charon has awakened the Legendary Pokémon Heatran, intending to have it destroy everything in the newly reborn organization's way. However, he and the two Team Galactic Grunts with him are forced to run away from the devastation caused by the Lava Dome Pokémon's awakening, leaving behind the Magma Stone that they had removed from its pedestal in order to achieve their objective. As they run away, Buck and his Claydol enter the cave as well and see that they were too late to stop Heatran's awakening. Buck has Claydol attack Heatran, but Heatran's counterattack easily overpowers Claydol's attack, slamming it straight into a wall.

As Charon and his grunts run for their lives down the stairs of the altar of the Magma Stone to get away from the eruption, Heatran emerges from the erupting magma. Buck and his Claydol arrive onto the scene with Buck angrily telling himself that he was too late as Charon dashes past him. Buck commands Claydol to attack Heatran with an Ice Beam which was easily countered by Heatran's Flamethrower which was strong enough to throw Claydol back into a wall.
As Buck tries to get Claydol back into the fight, Charon declares that he'll use Heatran to get rid of Buck for good. Heatran aims another attack at Buck, but before it can fire it, a Looker suddenly leaps in and knocks Heatran back, before jumping back and knocking out the two Team Galactic Grunts. The Croagunk's owner, Looker of the International Police, steps in and pets his Pokémon before telling Charon that his plans are over. Buck tells Looker that they must stop Heatran. Charon boasts that Heatran cannot be stopped and will scorch the entire Sinnoh region, but Looker delivers a chop to his neck, knocking him out.

Charon evilly states that Heatran's power will make sure that Buck will never interfere with their plans ever again while Buck is shocked to see that Heatran is approaching him. Heatran opened its mouth at Buck and was about to shoot a blast of fire at Buck. But before that could happen, a Croagunk jumps to Bucks defence and strikes at Heatran hard enough to send it backwards a fair distance.
As Croagunk and Claydol keep Heatran occupied, Buck asks Looker what they should do, and he returns the question in kind, frustrating Buck. Noticing the displaced Magma Stone, Buck decides to restore it back to its pedestal. Claydol starts lifting boulders with Psychic to create platforms for Buck to jump on while Croagunk keeps Heatran occupied with its Mud Bombs. Buck finally reaches the Magma Stone and lifts it up, and, just when Heatran is about to attack him, places it back onto its pedestal, causing a bright light to shine and Heatran to disappear as it's sealed away again. Buck thanks Claydol for its help and Looker compliments Buck's efforts. Behind them, the two Team Galactic Grunts have recovered and carry the unconcious Charon away before Buck and Looker can stop them.

The same Croagunk then jumps towards Charon knocks out his grunts. Charon then stared in shock to see Looker entering the scene. Looker tells Charon that it's all over with Charon uttering in shock that Looker of the International Police has appeared before him. Buck then runs towards the two and reminds them on the current situation of having to stop Heatran.
Later outside on 227, Buck washes his face with water from a local river, before formally introducing himself to Looker. Looker thanks him for making rounding up the remnants of Team Galactic much easier. Buck assures that he'll be there to help Looker if he needs to be saved. Looker, while grateful for the offer, says that he doesn't think he'd lose to a young man like Buck. Hearing this, Buck asks Looker if he wants to have a battle.

Heatran lets out a roar and begins approaching the three. Charon gloats that Heatran is unstoppable and that nothing will stop it. However Looker runs up to Charon and knocks him out while saying that it's time Charon should be quiet. Croagunk then executes a Mud Bomb at Heatran which causes the Lava Dome Pokémon to roar out in pain. Claydol fires an Ice Beam at Heatran who counters with a powerful Flamethrower.

Buck worriedly asks Looker on what they should do about Heatran with Looker replying on what Buck thinks they should do right now. A now frustrated Buck shouts at Looker, telling him how he is useless in their current situation and that they have to do something about Heatran. They both then notice the altar where the Magma Stone had fallen off to the side of it which sparked an idea into Buck.

Buck then charges to the side of the stairs and jumps off the ledge towards the magma to get past Heatran and towards the altar by having Claydol use Psychic at nearby rocks to create floating platforms for Buck to jump across. Heatran sees Buck jumping across floating rocks to get past it but Croagunk fires off more Mud Bombs to create a diversion for Buck.

Buck picks up the Magma Stone from the ground which caused Heatran to turn its attention to Buck as it prepares to fire off another attack. But just before it could, Buck placed the Magma Stone back onto the altar which caused a bright light to stream into the mountain which then caused Heatran to fade away. Looker watches in awe at the sight while Buck falls to his knees in exhausation and thanks Claydol for its efforts in helping him stop Heatran.

Looker compliments Buck on his skills while Buck replies that he is an "amazing dude". Buck then notices the Team Galactic grunts escaping with Charon and hastily retreat upon being noticed by Buck.

Outside, Buck introduces himself to Looker and tells him that he is travelling around to become the greatest Pokémon trainer. Looker agrees on Buck who said that he can't let those partaking in criminal activity just pass by him and thanks Buck for stopping the remnants of Team Galactic. Buck tells Looker that he can save Looker any time he gets into trouble with Looker replying that he likes to think he wouldn't lose to someone as young as Buck with Buck seeing it as a challenge for a Pokémon battle.
