<i>Our heroes think they’ve finally arrived in Nimbasa City, but their new friend Luke informs them that they’re actually in Nimbasa Town, home of the Pokémon Club Battle Tournament. Named after Don George’s Pokémon Battle Club, which sponsors the event, the tournament promises to be filled with excitement. One by one, many of our heroes’ friends and rivals show up to register: Bianca, Georgia, Burgundy, Stephan, and Trip are all in town for the competition!
 
Soon the matchups are announced and the action gets under way. Iris’s rival, “Dragon Buster” Georgia, is up first, and her Beartic quickly takes down her opponent’s Joltik. Later, Ash faces off against Burgundy, Cilan’s old rival and fellow Pokémon Connoisseur! {{TRT}} arrives in [[Nimbasa City]] to plan their latest scheme, which is far more ambitious than all their previous ones. Meanwhile, {{Ash}} and {{ashfr}} arrive at what they think is Nimbasa City, but [[Luke]] informs them that they are actually in [[Nimbasa Town]], the site of a [[Pokémon battle]] tournament. As Ash prepares to head over to the tournament, {{an|Bianca}} arrives, knocking Ash into a nearby river. As Ash dries himself off, he suggests Bianca be more careful next time. She furiously apologizes, explaining that she was rushing to register for the battle tournament. Bianca fears she may have even missed the deadline, but {{an|Cilan}} explains that everyone else is also planning on competing. With that, Bianca orders everyone to get a move on.
 
As the group approaches the [[Battle Club]], Luke begins filming his documentary of the tournament, but Bianca interrupts him. Palpitoad opens with {{m|Mud Shot}}, to which Stoutland counters with {{m|Tackle}}. Afterwards, Stoutland then tries an {{t|Ground|ineffective}} {{m|Thunder Fang}} on Palpitoad. Cilan remarks on the critical mistake, but Burgundy was simply trying to catch Palpitoad before delivering a direct {{m|Ice Fang}} instead. However, before Palpitoad is completely frozen, Ash commands it to use {{m|Supersonic}}, which causes Stoutland to let go and also shatters the ice. Stoutland replies with Tackle attack and rushes in for a {{m|Fire Fang}}. However Palpitoad sprays a Mud Shot directly in its opponent's mouth, causing Stoutland to start coughing in an attempt to clear the mud. With a jet of {{m|Hydro Pump}}, Palpitoad emerges victorious, allowing Ash to proceed to the second round. As everyone cheers for Ash, Trip remarks that it was just a lucky break.

Stoutland replies with Tackle attack and rushes in for a Fire Fang. However Palpitoad sprays a Mud Shot directly in its opponent's mouth, causing Stoutland to start coughing in an attempt to clear the mud. With a jet of Hydro Pump, Palpitoad emerges victorious, allowing Ash to proceed to the second round. As everyone cheers for Ash, Trip remarks that it was just a lucky break.

After Zorua pulls more of her pranks by mimicking Georgia, Cilan and Trip prepare for their battle, with Cilan promising to have his performance be even better than Ash's.

Dub edits

  • A remixed instrumental version of Black and White replaces the instrumental Best Wishes! background music.
  • In the original Japanese version, James says Nimbasa City is where their next mission is. In the English dub, he says the mission will be a shining success.
  • In the English dub, Luke says Bianca probably takes vitamins. In the original Japanese version, he says she must be a very busy person.
  • In the original Japanese version, Don George calls the tournament "The Don George Pokémon Battle Tournament". This isn't mentioned in the English dub.
