Region | Kalos |
Debut | Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel |
The Nebel Plateau (Japanese: ネーベル高原 Nebel Plateau) is an animated series-exclusive location in Kalos and one of the settings of Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel.
It is a remote highlands where Pokémon harmed by humans live together. Volcanion protects the Pokémon living here and remains awake at night to watch over them. Ash, his friends, and Kimia visited this location with the guidance of Volcanion. Volcanion was able to produce a mist which prevented them from being followed by humans.
The Pokémon living here are afraid of humans and Pokémon owned by these humans, including Ash, his friends, Kimia, and their Pokémon. A Gulpin residing there became wary of Ash after Ash hugged it. Volcanion revealed that the Gulpin had been abandoned by its trainer after receiving a big hug. However, with time, the Pokémon were able to trust Ash and his friends, and began to play around together. By the end of the movie, Ash and his friends gained the trust of Volcanion and became honorary Nebel Plateau Pokémon.
During the events of the movie, Alva attempted to destroy Nebel Plateau using Magearna's Soul-Heart, but his attack was deflected by the Nebel Plateau Pokémon and Squishy.
The flower fields of Nebel Plateau is also the location Volcanion first met Magearna. Since then, Volcanion has taken care of Magearna.
