Mt. Molteau (Japanese: アルドル山 Mt. Ardres) is an animated series-exclusive location in Kalos that was featured in A Legendary Photo Op!. The active volcano is located between Dendemille Town and Anistar City.
While passing by, Ash and his friends encountered their old friend Trevor at Mt. Molteau. Trevor was keen to get a photo of Moltres, having already taken a picture of the other legendary birds, Articuno and Zapdos. Using Clemont's Rock Searcher Mark 1, the group searched for Moltres, which later malfunctioned after being kicked by Jessie.
Trevor and the group arrived at the top of Mt. Molteau, only to discover that Team Rocket had followed them. A battle ensued, but was disrupted by Moltres as it emerged from the volcano. The Legendary Pokémon easily blasted off Team Rocket with Flamethrower. Moltres then turned its attention to the group. Ash's Fletchinder and Trevor's Charmeleon took on Moltres. however Moltres proved too powerful. Fletchinder eventually evolved into Talonflame and learned Brave Bird. Despite evolving, Talonflame was overpowered by Moltres's Fire Blast and was falling without senses into the volcano. Ash jumped to save it and Frogadier's frubbles helped them back up. Moltres flew away after understanding that Ash and his friends weren't enemies.
The group left Mt. Molteau, with Trevor revealing that he was able to get a picture of Moltres.
