Weather Ball is a Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation III that deals a small amount of damage normally, but has double the attack power in weather conditions.
Effect
The type that Weather Ball is depends on the weather conditions at the time it is used. It will be Fire if Sunny Day is under effect, Water if Rain Dance is under effect, Ice if Hail is under effect, Rock if Sandstorm is under effect, It will be a Shadow move (and therefore Template:Type2) if Shadow Sky is under effect in Pokémon XD, and Normal in any other circumstance. If it is used when any weather condition is in effect, its base power becomes 100. Type power-ups from rain or sunshine will be put into effect, as well as STAB caused by Castform's type changing from its ability, Forecast.
In Smart Contests, Weather Ball is the only move to score 4 hearts with no drawbacks.
