Regice (Japanese: レジアイス Regice) is an Template:Type2 legendary Pokémon.
It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.
It is, along with Regirock and Registeel, one of the three legendary golems of Hoenn.
Biology
Physiology
Regice is an Template:Type2 Pokémon whose body is composed of Antarctic ice that resembles a crystal. Its face has an unusual pattern consisting of seven yellow dots in a "+" formation. Its legs appear to be simply cones and it balances its entire body on those two points. It seems to skate as it moves.
Gender differences
Regice is a genderless species.
Special abilities
Regice cloaks itself in air that is -328 degrees Fahrenheit. It can survive if submerged in molten lava. Due to its extremely frigid body, anyone who approaches it can freeze. It is capable of surviving even extremely hot temperatures. Regice has the unexplainable ability to wield Electrical attacks like Zap Cannon.
Behavior
Habitat
Regice resides in the Island Cave.
Diet

In the anime
Regice made an appearance with Regirock and Registeel in the 8th Pokémon movie, Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, as one of the three guardians of The Tree of Beginning. It first tried to attack Ash, but was stopped by Lucario. In the end, it, together with Regirock and Registeel, turned away and went back to protect the Tree of Beginning.
Ash's Pikachu battled and defeated Pyramid King Brandon's Regice in Pace - The Final Frontier, thus making it only the second legendary Pokémon to lose a battle in the entire anime series, after Noland's Articuno, which had earlier lost to Ash's Charizard.
It appeared again in DP128, where Brandon used it in his battle with Paul. It battled Paul's Ursaring and easily took out his Lairon.
It appeared again in DP129 where it was used to battle the rampaging Regigigas at Snowpoint Temple. Regigigas used Confuse Ray on Regirock, Regice and Registeel and all 4 Pokémon went on a rampage. All the rampaging Pokémon (except Regigigas) faded away, and when J used her weapon to catch the immobilized Regigigas and Regirock, Regice and Registeel and eventually Pyramid King Brandon all jumped in front of J's firing range and were frozen. Regigigas eventually brought them back to life with Hidden Power.

Regice, the Iceberg Pokémon. Formed in the Ice Age, its body stays at a temperature of -328 degrees and cannot be melted, even by fire.
|
|
In the manga
Regice debuted near the end of the RSE saga, when Glacia was attempting to open the Island Cave. Together, Steven and Sapphire created a team of four Beldums and Sapphire's Relicanth and Wailord, thus opening up the chamber containing Regice. Regice used Superpower to stop Groudon and Kyogre from fighting. Afterwards, it and the other two Regis traveled to the mountains, where they were later caught by Brandon.
Brandon used Regice in his battle with Emerald. It beat Crystal's Cubone, which Emerald had borrowed to use in the Battle Pyramid, but was subsequently defeated by Emerald's Sceptile and its Iron Tail.

Trivia
- Regice is one of only four pure Template:Type2 Pokémon, along with Snorunt, Glalie, and Glaceon, which also makes it the only pure Ice-type Legendary Pokémon (not including Arceus when holding the Icicle Plate).
- Regice has the second highest base Special Defense in the game, surpassed only by Shuckle.
- Regirock, Registeel, and Regice are the only Pokémon with the strongest move by base power as a starting move.
- Regice's Ruby Pokédex entry says it cannot be melted by fire, although it still has a type weakness to Fire.
- In Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, there is an unobtainable Regice Doll programmed into the game. It may have been intended to be obtained with the e-Reader.
Origin
Regice is based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened.
Name origin
Regice's name is a combination of regius, which is Latin for royal, and ice.
