The '''Armor Fossil''' (Japanese: '''たてのカセキ''' ''Shield Fossil'') is a [[Fossil]] introduced in [[Generation IV]] that can be regenerated into {{p|Shieldon}}. It is the counterpart of the [[Skull Fossil]].


Unlike previous games, where only one fossil would be available, but would be chosen from a set of two, in [[Pokémon Diamond and Pearl]], they are game-specific. Only players of Diamond can get the Skull Fossil, and only players of Pearl can get the Armor Fossil. However, there are unlimited amounts of them now found in the [[Sinnoh Underground]], so players can trade revived Pokémon to their friends without losing the chance to have them.

The first dedicated Armor Fossil card in the TCG

The Armor Fossil was introduced as a Trainer card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game in the Mysterious Treasures expansion, first released in the Japanese Secret of the Lakes expansion. It is a Fossil Trainer card, so after being played it is put on the Bench as a Colorless-type Basic Pokémon. It has a Poké-Body that says if it is damaged by an opponent's Pokémon's attack, Armor Fossil's owner can flip coins until they get tails and, for each heads, reduce the damage done by the Attacking Pokémon by ten. It can evolve into Shieldon that evolve from an Armor Fossil.
