Western Cave (Japanese: にしの どうくつ Western Cave) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. It is home to Mewtwo and contains 99 floors.
Western Cave (Japanese: 西の洞窟 Western Cave) is a dungeon in Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX that contains 99/20 floors. It is home to Mewtwo.

Western Cave is unlocked by recruiting Ho-Oh from Mt. Faraway.
The day after Ho-Oh is defeated in Mt. Faraway, Blastoise and Charizard will return from a failed expedition to this dungeon, having been defeated by Mewtwo. Western Cave will then be unlocked for exploration.

Keys can randomly be found on the ground.  These are needed to obtain certain items in different dungeons. One is required in the Western Cave to obtain the Beauty Scarf (an item to evolve Feebas) from behind a locked door on B59F. You can also find Vitamins on the ground and in the Kecleon Shop. (Only Vitamins which permanantly boost you Attack, Defense, Sp. Attk. and Sp. Def.)
Gameplay
Generation III
In the original games, HM Surf is required to enter this dungeon. Keys and stat-boosting health drinks can be found on the ground. The Mystery Dungeon evolutionary items can be found on B59F, and requires a Key to obtain. If the player already has one, it will be replaced by Link Cable. There is a chance of finding Kecleon Shops from B20F onwards. There are no hidden items.

To enter this dungeon, the team must have a Pokémon with the move Surf or have the HM Surf.
The default weather effect for floors 5, 15, 18, 21, 27, 40, 45, 56, 59, 66, 84 and 95 is sunny; for floors 7, 20, 32, 46, 57, 68, 79 and 89, cloudy; and for floors 11, 24, 36 and 53, rain. On floors 50 to 60, sandstorms can happen due to Tyranitar's Sand Stream.

There is a chance of finding Kecleon Shops from B30F onwards. There are no hidden items.
Additionally, all floors are shrouded in heavy darkness, limiting field of view in hallways to just one tile.

* The name is a reference to Cerulean Cave, due to the cave being in the west, having Mewtwo at the end of the dungeon, and the need of Surf for the Player to get to the cave.
* The dungeon's name, requiring Surf for access, and having Mewtwo at the end are all references to Cerulean Cave, which was located in western Cerulean City.
* Every member of Team A.C.T. can be found here.
* In Generation III every member of Team A.C.T. as well as every fully evolved first partner Pokémon that existed at the time can be found here.

Western Cave (Japanese: 西洞窟 Western Cave) is a dungeon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX that contains 99RB/20RTDX floors. It is home to Mewtwo.

The day after Ho-Oh is defeated in Mt. Faraway, Blastoise and Charizard will return from a failed expedition to this dungeon, having been defeated by an unseen Pokémon. Western Cave will then be unlocked for exploration.

Gameplay

Generation III

In the original games, HM Surf is required to enter this dungeon. Keys and stat-boosting health drinks can be found on the ground. The Beauty Scarf can be found on B59F, and requires a Key to obtain. If the player already has one, it will be replaced by Link Cable. There is a chance of finding Kecleon Shops from B20F onwards. There are no hidden items.

Additionally, all floors are shrouded in heavy darkness, limiting field of view in hallways to just one tile.
