The Black Flute (Japanese: くろいビードロ Black Vidro) is a type of item introduced in Generation III. It is one of the flutes.
In the core series games

In the Generation V games, the Black Flute can be sold to the billionaire maniac in Undella Town for $8000.
Effect
Generation III to IV
When used in the field, it reduces wild Pokémon encounter rate by 50%. This effect lasts until a map transition takes place.
Generation V to Pokémon X and Y
The Black Flute serves no practical purpose other than to be sold.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
When used in the field, it increases the level of wild Pokémon by 1 to 4 levels. The effect disappears when the player leaves the area.
