May I know if the Moves/Abilities in other languages if anyone is doing on adding the Chinese names. So I was wondering if we're going to use the table as seen here or with this template which would have to be edited to "English/Japanese/French.../Korean/Chinese". But then, on the Skill page, which Pokémon Shuffle may not be having the Chinese version, is also using the template. Or I should leave it alone for now :) — <span style="color:orange">Ruixiang</span><span style="color:purple">95</span> 15:24, 14 February 2017 (UTC) | May I know if the Moves/Abilities in other languages if anyone is doing on adding the Chinese names. Hey, I've been a user for a good while now and have edited multiple pages. Despite this, I am unable to edit my userpage. == Pokemon Masters Jukebox songs & translations ==
Now that the text dumps for Pokemon Masters are up to date, I have compiled a list of the currently-available songs from the in-game jukebox, as well as all of their translations. The tagging used in the text files seems to correspond with the song key number used in the game (just truncated). Really the only info I'm missing at this point is what date each song was made available and which songs were unlockable.
The reason I'm coming to you is that I don't know where this info should go. I could see it being its own page, but it could easily be contained in a spoiler tab on the main Pokemon Masters page. Any ideas? Yug Guy (talk) 02:04, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

:::In the future, if you didn't already know, you can make pages in your userspace and ask if they can be moved to the mainspace when they're ready. For example, this page could have been made at User talk:Yug Guy/Jukebox (Masters) with the Mainspace template placed at the top to denote that it is intended to be mainspaced. This could be useful if you decide to work on new pages in the future that you aren't able to get mainspace-ready by yourself or that require a lot of time to work on before they're ready. I'm not an admin so this is not my decision to make, but I think the page you made seems good enough that it's probably okay that it is already mainspaced. :In the case of Langley, the spelling in Japanese does not resemble the Chinese word for dragon and they could have better incorporated the word "slay" had it been intended. :Treasures of Ruin all follow a pattern in their names: animal and object they're based on (though not in order). None of those words you suggested match the pattern. In addition, it's also unlikely 熠 would be chosen as that is an uncommon word. Besides, if it had been intended, it would been used in the Chinese name which it didn't. Furthermore, 炽 does not match the romanization scheme used among the English names. The correct way of romanizing it in Wade–Giles would have been "Ch'ih". --<font color="#2B547E">超龍</font><small>「Chao」</small> 01:47, 11 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm here to inquire about the English translation for DreamDream. According to the change logs, you were the one who added the translation to the page. Were you the person who translated the current version, or is there another person who did the translation? I want to ask proper permission to use this translation for the captions on a cover of the song I plan to release, and I want to make sure I'm crediting the right person other than just putting Bulbapedia in the credits section! Since you are Chinese, you should be very well aware of the differences between 国 and 里. I refuse to believe you actually believe Sato means Land. I speak Japanese and I live in Japan. Do NOT edit war or I will report you. --Thegrandpoketour (talk) 09:48, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Official Korean Romanization List
Thanks for the heads up! It coincided with my recent trips to Korea and the use of official Romanized names, such as the use of "Hankarias" instead of "Hankariaseu" (한카리아스, Garchomp) on official Korean merchandise. I believe the official Romanized names were pulled from this document, right?
Having said that, the official Romanizations seems to be used inconsistantly by Pokémon Korea, because I spotted a 파이리/Charmander toy which was Romanized as "Pairi", not "Fairit" (there's not even a "T" sound in the original Korean name). On the other hand, "Hankarias" was used instead of "Hankariaseu" for 한카리아스 which confirms the list. Therefore, I'm gonna look into this a bit more, since that document was released by TPC International, not Pokémon Korea; I just want to make doubly sure that TPC International got the names from Pokémon Korea themselves and didn't take it upon themselves to Romanize it, or maybe Pokémon Korea is just being lazy about applying it consistantly to official merch, etc etc. That is unless there IS a document released by Pokémon Korea which confirms TPC International's document? That would definitely save me some trouble.
Fundamentally though, I see no reason NOT to use it, because it's still an official list in any case. Hopefully I can find the official Romanizations for Gen 6 Pokémon as well! -- Nick15 (talk) 04:01, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Moves and Abilities in other languages
May I know if the Moves/Abilities in other languages if anyone is doing on adding the Chinese names. So I was wondering if we're going to use the table as seen here or with this template which would have to be edited to "English/Japanese/French.../Korean/Chinese". But then, on the Skill page, which Pokémon Shuffle may not be having the Chinese version, is also using the template. Or I should leave it alone for now :) — Ruixiang95 15:24, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- Just leave them alone for now. There are still some issues to work out with those pages and a decision still has yet to be made. --超龍「Chao」 00:56, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
Hello dude I'm here to help with French translation across the wiki I've understood your last undo on my edit but actually Cyrus (team Galaxy's boss) is "Boss de la team Galaxie" in French, I'm french native and in Pokemon games its refered as this we need to add damn pronouns before the thing, can't believe no one noticed that, sorry for annoyance I just wanted to contribute to this wiki's perfection.
- I'm curious to the source of "Boss de la team Galaxie" as the French version of Diamond Version had used "Chef Galaxie" as the translation for the Trainer class.
- Also, please start a new section through the "+" tab on top of the page instead of replying to an old section. --超龍「Chao」 07:12, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Btw mina's name really means tiny in greek Badwolf1234 (talk) 02:37, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
- Name origins are given leeway to a reasonable extent, but the ones you've added are dubious at best.
- According to the article you linked, it just means "clan" or "pregnant." Her name is not Whenua, so there's no point in listing that out. The article only discusses the trend in words for social units to be named after body parts (or its state).
- As for Mina, "tiny" is too vague to be connected to fairies. That's like associating "large" to dragons. Besides, I'm not even sure if that's correct considering that you said the same thing for "love."
- Also, I've removed your etymology for Hala. Haul and Hala sounds nothing alike in Japanese. --超龍「Chao」 03:11, 22 March 2017 (UTC)

Request to review Chinese pinyin in a draft article in my userspace
I compiled a list of common phrases from fortune-teller tents (Festival Plaza) in other languages as a draft article in my userspace, and I need someone fluent in Chinese who can review the pinyin I have in that list and make any corrections there. According to the Staff page, you have an intermediate-level knowledge of Chinese (zh-2), so maybe you could help me here. The Staff page also mentions Carmen★ (Talk | contribs) as a native Chinese speaker (zh-N), so I am also asking her this just in case you cannot. Medium
Hi Chao, Morty mentions Media in Pokémon Masters. In Chinese, his dialogue is: 道館裡也聚集了一群 想磨練那種神秘力量的人呢。 例如神婆之類的。 I'm not sure what is the full term for "Medium" - 神婆之類 or just 神婆 ("Goddess"?). I don't want to rely on Google Translate and my less-than-rudimentary Chinese knowledge, so I'm sure that you're the rightest person to ask. --Maxim (talk) 07:35, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
- Oh, I missed that one, but it's now been added. The 之類 part means "as such; and the likes," so it's just 神婆. I'm leaning towards spiritual mediums in this case. --超龍「Chao」 01:34, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
Translation of 四天王
I understand that you know Japanese much better than I do. May I ask, however, how does "四天王" translate into "The Big Four"? As even you yourself put it, its literal translation is "Four Heavenly Kings", which Bulbapedia has used for years now. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:19, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Nevermind. Just read your edit summary. I see. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:18, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Aside from it being the translation that appeared in Japanese ORAS, the cultural differences creates slightly different connotations when translated literally. For now, I'm just leaving in the literal translation, but I'll be working on a note to explain the term. As for the translations for older episode titles, they will also be updated accordingly. --超龍「Chao」 01:15, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think it's just that 1) I am not good at handling sudden big changes, and 2) "Four Heavenly Kings" sound a lot more dramatic and fitting to me than "The Big Four", which sounds unimaginative and lame in comparison to me. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 06:38, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Official translation still takes precedence. Besides, it's not incorrect while also being gender-neutral. --超龍「Chao」 07:11, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- True. I wasn't opposing this translation, just explaining why it was hard for me to take in at first. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:53, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

Since you are an admin, can you move my userspace page (User:Connixstar08/6★ EX) to the mainspace--ConNix 22:35, 30 March 2021 (UTC)
- There's no need to rush. The page will be moved when it's ready, but your article still needs to be restructured to better present the information. It would be better to merge the sync pairs into one section instead of splitting them into sections on sets of 10. --超龍「Chao」 05:20, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
JN064
Does this count as evidence towards JN064's authenticity? And once the episode is verified, can it please be restored as it was? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:07, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
- The magazine scan you linked there did not provide the episode title nor did it show Dragonite. I checked the supposed source for the title and found the image quality to be suspiciously inconsistent, not to mention the language used there appears to be machine translated. I can restore it assuming no one went ahead in creating the article again. --超龍「Chao」 09:13, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Dex in other Languages (Masters)
Hey, would adding the Dex entries for the trainers in Pokémon Masters be helpful, or is that a step too far? (the actual dex entries for the Pokémon themselves appear to be taken from the games, so adding translations wouldn't be necessary for Masters) Yug Guy (talk) 20:02, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- That wouldn't be necessary. It's already suffice to have the English ones. Besides, we don't even list dex entries for the Pokémon from the other languages. --超龍「Chao」 01:10, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
Masters move translations
Your work in adding translations to the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese names of Masters EX moves has been phenomenal. I just spotted at least two characters where said translations still need to be added: Jessie and James. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 13:36, 28 August 2021 (UTC)
- Also discovered that Erika is missing a translation or two. Not sure if more are missing from other Trainer articles. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:02, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

- I think that should be all, but I'll be leaving the shouts like the ones for Blaine and Bruno untranslated. --超龍「Chao」 01:43, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think they need translations, either. Thank you. I also think that should be all, but I'll let you know if I spot anything. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:00, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

JN081: Poké Maniacs or Poké Mania?
Does JN081's title reference Poké Maniacs? It doesn't quite match the Japanese name of the Trainer class, but I have a suspicion the episode still refers to them. Am I correct? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:26, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
- It doesn't have the same name as the Trainer class, but the episode summary indicates that it refers to an enthusiastic person (maniac). The title has been updated accordingly. --超龍「Chao」 01:24, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- As far as I know, the term Pokémania has been used on certain occasions in Japanese as well (in the meaning of "Pokémaniac"), most notably to refer to Bill. Bill isn't a "Kaiju Mania" - it's just the English version that makes the two terms sound the same. Bill's article doesn't state that, but I'm 99% positive that it is the case. I will look through the game text files to make sure. --Maxim (talk) 07:16, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Pinsir's gender
According to subtitles, in JN094, Goh calls his Pinsir a girl when looking over it at Cerise Park. Is this an accurate translation? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 12:46, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
- It looks like in the scene where Pinsir is on a bridge in JN094, Goh practically goes out of his way to avoid gendering Pinsir. That's the extent I've looked. I assume the fansubs just assume Pinsir is female because it likes a male Heracross. Tiddlywinks (talk) 03:39, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Goh did not mention a gender. The only time he referred to Pinsir directly is calling it "yatsu" which is neither he or she.--ForceFire 06:59, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

- A separate page titled "Jukebox (Masters)" should work here. --超龍「Chao」 05:41, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
- I created Jukebox (Masters) & put all the songs on there. It'll definitely need some more experienced editors to do some polishing before it can be linked on the main Pokémon Masters EX page. Yug Guy (talk) 02:52, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- In the future, if you didn't already know, you can make pages in your userspace and ask if they can be moved to the mainspace when they're ready. But I just thought it might be helpful to let you know your other options. Landfish7 03:01, 4 June 2022 (UTC)

- Articles generally have to be substantial for it to be on the mainspace, so they are ready to be linked by default. With that, this page already looks good enough on its own. As for the missing information, someone would eventually get around to adding them. --超龍「Chao」 03:56, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
AG021
I noticed that AG021's Japanese title has a word that's not included in the translation. Moreover, this word only appears on the episode list, not in the episode article. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 11:55, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
- It appears to be just a typo copied from the previous episode title. --超龍「Chao」
- Ah, makes sense. Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 08:33, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
Move name translation
Spirit Break's page translates the move's Japanese name as Soul Crash. However, after hearing the move's name being said out loud in Journeys episode 99, I think it should be Soul Crush. That would also fit well with its English translation. Am I correct? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:23, 18 June 2022 (UTC)
- Those words are near homophones in English, not to mention both of them (along with "Clash") would be spelled the same in Japanese. That being said, the Korean name uses the specific spelling of "Crash", so I'm leaning towards keeping it as is. --超龍「Chao」 01:23, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- Okay. Thanks. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 15:58, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Diantha's Japanese name romanization
Could this scan from the Japanese magazine Spoon.2Di suffice as enough to change the romanization of her name to Carne instead of Carnet on Bulbapeda? Additionally, it was also spelled out like that on this poster which was part of a poster campaign relating to the anime's Masters Tournament. --DomiDsLP (talk) 15:01, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not Chao and I don't have any authority here, but keep in mind that "Carnet" was nothing but a guess romanization (we use lots of those for human characters because they rarely get the occasion for official romaji), so any official material "beats" it. This goes without asking. If you were reverted because of using "Carne", then the person reverting you was wrong (unless I'm missing something). --Maxim (talk) 18:34, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
- My apologies, the closest thing to official sources with "Carnet" is from the text files in Masters, but names spelled in merchandise would definitely take priority here. I hadn't come across that scan and poster, so I wasn't aware of the spelling. It should mostly be reverted now with the rest of the pages be updated accordingly. That said, please do list the sources of official spellings in the edit summary next time, so it'll be easier to check for reference. --超龍「Chao」 01:31, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
Official English title and track names for Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Volume 2
So the Pocket Monsters Original Soundtrack Volume 2 CD has official English translations for its title (Pokémon ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK Vol.2) and all the tracks on it included in the data. However, as you can see, Pokémon is used instead of the literal Pocket Monsters. Other English terminology is used as well instead of the literal romanizations (Chloe, Eevee, Gigantamax). How should this be handled on the page? Should we leave the fan translations and just note the official ones? PaperSplash (talk) 19:54, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- We would follow the format of game soundtracks. The title would be move to the official English translation, while the fan translations of the tracks would be replaced with official translations. The header would also have to be replaced: "Track Title" → "Track Title (Japanese)" and "Translation" → "Track Title (English)".
- By the way, where are those English translations? --超龍「Chao」 01:46, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
Masters moves
Many sync pairs with new moves have been introduced since you last helped to add new the names of those moves to each sync pair's respective articles. Could you help with adding those that haven't been adding yet when you get the chance? Thank you. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 14:21, 15 November 2022 (UTC)
- I think that should be all for now. Let me know if I missed anything else. --超龍「Chao」 03:42, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
- I will. Thank you very much for the tremendous help. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 10:12, 17 November 2022 (UTC)
Other names
Do you think you could add the narrator's pseudonym from JN126 to his article, as well as the different language names of the unique Trainer classes used by Geeta and Clavell to their respective articles? Thank you in advance. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 17:28, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- Now I'm not sure, though, if Top Champion should be counted as a subcategory of Champion or as a unique Trainer class of Geeta's. Which do you think is more appropriate? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:50, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Iron Jugulis
I noticed on Iron Jugulis's page, you changed the meaning of 鉄の首 tetsu no kōbe from "iron neck" to "iron head", but aren't both possible translations? If anything, neck seems like the more likely intention here since most of the other language versions of the name also reference neck. Landfish7 05:55, 29 December 2022 (UTC)
- The reading kōbe refers to head. If it was neck, it would have been kubi. --超龍「Chao」 02:54, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
Proper transcription of the name of newly announced SC TCG subsets.
Hi. May I ask you about the proper romanisation (not translation) for the names of the newly announced TCG expansions 交相辉映 and GX起始卡组 交相辉映 ?

Why did you delete "Sandwic" as a redirect to "Sandwich"?

Georgia and Tyson's names
I'm sure you had a good reason for reverting my edits about Georgia and Tyson's name origins, but it is a courteous gesture to leave an edit summary explaining your reasoning for doing so to anyone's edits on any wiki unless the edit is obviously incorrect, irrelevant, or in some other way unnecessary, which my edits were not. the great MIKORO (talk to me) 10:48, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- In the case of Langley, the spelling in Japanese does not resemble the Chinese word for dragon and they could have better incorporated the word "slay" had it been intended. As for Tyson, it's too much of a leap. The explanation just comes off as forcefully fitting a similar word and making a random interpretation out of it. --超龍「Chao」 01:14, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
Chi-Yu name origin question
Hi, just wondering; you removed the potential name origins i added to Chi-Yu's page, 炽 chì [blaze] and 熠 yì [obscure word for flame], and i was just wondering why. I admit it was a google translation, so i would not be surprised at all if it happened to be a mistranslation or flat out wrong, but i was just curious, as the translation seemed fairly accurate. Would love some insight, and im sure you know more than me. thank you!
MajoraVoidJester (talk) 07:51, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Treasures of Ruin all follow a pattern in their names: animal and object they're based on (though not in order). --超龍「Chao」 01:47, 11 August 2023 (UTC)
Masters names in other languages
Hi! I appreciate you putting the names for new Masters characters' moves and sync moves in other languages on their pages, but please remember to comment them out if it's an alternate costume that hasn't been officially announced/released yet. Thank you! Storm Aurora (talk) 04:47, 29 September 2023 (UTC)
- Speaking of missing names, Clair and Wallace are missing the names for the moves of their newly released New Year's sync pairs. Could you add them, please? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 02:25, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Done. --超龍「Chao」 04:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Noticed this morning. Thank you very much. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 19:24, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Now that the maintenance is over, could you add the move names for the new sync pairs released during the maintenance period? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 23:53, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- I'm on it. --超龍「Chao」 04:11, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. I noticed you had accidentally left some translations incomplete on Petey's page, so I fixed them. --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 09:18, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

(resetting indent)You've been of tremendous help in the past, and once again, I request your services. While adding the different language names of recently added sync pairs, I noticed that you did not add Blue & Charizard's move names. Was this a mistake or done on purpose? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 21:40, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- No, I just missed that. Thanks for pointing that out. --超龍「Chao」 01:57, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Unite Moves in other languages
Hi, thank you for cleaning up Miraidon (UNITE)'s other langauges section. Which transliteration/romaniation method do you use? I mostly rely on Google Translate, but it is very unreliable. Do you know of any better tool that I can use so I won't have to bother you everytime? I've added in-game names for Greninja, so I'd appreciate you taking at look at them when you get a chance. Thank you. → PikaTepig999 07:01, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Mail names

DreamDream Translation Credits
Hello, I'm here to inquire about the English translation for DreamDream. According to the change logs, you were the one who added the translation to the page. Were you the person who translated the current version, or is there another person who did the translation? I want to ask proper permission to use this translation for the captions on a cover of the song I plan to release, and I want to make sure I'm crediting the right person other than just putting Bulbapedia in the credits section!
