User talk:Pokelova
Welcome
Welcome to Bulbapedia, Pokelova!
As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:
- For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
- The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
- Keep an eye on the Messages from the Editor on the main page, to stay informed on current events on Bulbapedia.
- The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The é can be accessed by holding Alt and typing either 130 or 0233 on a Windows computer, and by using Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can easily click it in the character palette below the editbox.
- The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a capital B. The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
- The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
- On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
- The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
- If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
- A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
- For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
- Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded. To activate your account at the Archives and Bulbanews, please login there using the same username and password you use here on Bulbapedia.
- If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Pokelova/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
- Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
- A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem can be found here.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here! --MoldyOrange 03:05, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
Seriously.
Don't make so many edits to the User: namespace. Instead of doing many, small edits, try to do fewer, larger edits. Garrison12795 22:59, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
I'll make as much small edits as I like! It's not your Userpage, so mind your own business!--Pokelova 23:38, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oh is that right? You better stop making so many edits or consider yourself blocked. --☆ケンジガール 00:29, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I can get blocked for that?--Pokelova 00:33, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yep. We are trying to cut down on userspace edits. Everyone is trying to contribute their fair share. The userspace was locked for 4 months because of too many userspace edits and I don't look foward to going through another one. --☆ケンジガール 00:34, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I thought that was because people were putting silly things on the actual pages, if ya know what I mean.--Pokelova 00:36, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Please
Slow down on editing the User:
namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page. Thank you. --MoldyOrange 00:23, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Sorry. :( --Pokelova 00:34, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
images
I don't have the resources to upload sprites, but you can always change the image to one that is already on the archives, there are enough images of every Pokémon so that everyone can be satisfied. MoldyOrange 12:41, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- If you're just looking for something like Blaziken, then use [[Image:257.png]] which results in:
- Of course, repace 257 with the Pokémon's number. Gywall(Talk) 19:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks so much!--Pokelova 19:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Once again
Please slow down on editing the User Space. The more you edit the User Space, the more likely the User Space will be blocked againDCM 11:57, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Just wondering....
do you want all of your user tags where they are or on the side of you page?--DCM((TalkContributions)) 13:26, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I want them on the side of the page. How? Pokelova 20:15, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Mystery Dungeon 2 Player
A usertag you have been using, {{User Mystery Dungeon 2}}, has been moved to a new location due to a split in the usertag between the two versions. Your tag has been switched to that template's new location, {{User Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time}}. If you only play Explorers of Darkness, you can reflect it by changing the tag to {{User Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Darkness}}. --Shiningpikablu252 01:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

When I try to get it to link to my userpage, it doesn't work! --User:Pokelova
Now its working, but I can't get it to say the time. Maybe its cos I'm on the Wii. --User:Pokelova
- Hmm, are you using four tildes, or just three? Three tildes does just the signature (-- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^), five does just the date (19:43, 27 September 2008 (UTC)), and four does both, which is how you should be ending your comments. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:43, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
I use 4, but it just won't link to my page! :( That's why I'm putting User: Pokelova --Pokelova 00:11, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- You may have the "raw signatures" box checked without any code entered into it. If that's the case, either uncheck the box or write in code so that it links to your userpage, as well as any other pages you want. --((Marton imos)) 00:20, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll go do that now! --User: Pokelova

An answer and a proposition
Pokelova, a few days ago, you asked how a pokémon works, but a jerk blocked me so I couldn't answer. Here is how a pokémon works: a Trainer that encounters a wild Pokémon is able to capture that Pokémon by throwing a specially designed, mass-producible tool called a Poké Ball at it. If the Pokémon is unable to escape the confines of the Poké Ball, that Pokémon is officially considered under the ownership of that Trainer. Afterward, it will obey whatever commands its new master issues to it from that point onward, unless the Trainer demonstrates enough of a lack of experience that the Pokémon would rather act on its own accord. Trainers can send out any of their Pokémon to wage non-lethal battles against other Pokémon; if the opposing Pokémon is wild, the Trainer can capture that Pokémon with a Poké Ball, increasing his or her collection of creatures. Pokémon already owned by other Trainers cannot be captured, except under special circumstances in certain games. If a Pokémon fully defeats an opponent in battle so that the opponent is knocked out (i.e., "faints"), the winning Pokémon gains experience and may level up. When leveling up, the Pokémon's statistics ("stats") of battling aptitude increase, such as Attack and Speed. From time to time the Pokémon may also learn new moves, which are techniques used in battle. In addition, many species of Pokémon possess the ability to undergo a form of metamorphosis and transform into a similar but stronger species of Pokémon, a process called evolution.I will also be posting this link on my FAQ page (but probably not until tomorrow so I won’t be making too many userspace edits). Thanks for asking. By the way, I noticed after reading your user talk page that lots of people got mad at you for editing. They got mad at me for erasing a few freaking comments that users had made. Then, Magnedeth (what a jerk) blocked me for like two weeks! The admins on this site get mad if you even break lines in your signature and give pokémon suggested movesets! Sorry I’m taking so long. I get on one topic, then can’t get off. My mom says I’m out of control, and I think she’s right :D. Anyways, I’m about as new as you, so I’ve got a proposition for you. All we have in this wiki are each other (and the trom. He’s nice once you get to know him.) You seem really nice and inquisitive. Let’s be friends. Write back soon! Lapras 19:17, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Wow, uh I was only kidding. I've been a Pokemon fan for years and know how most of it works. I've been on Bulbapedia for ages. Magnedeth isn't a jerk, you should just follow the rules. But I suppose we can be friends. Although I'm not the social type.--I'm Pokelova(Talk) 04:38, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Your userspace privileges have once again been revoked. You haven't made a single mainspace edit since June 12th. And almost every single edit you have made this month has been to your userspace. - And in response to your question on Gagaromamah's talk page, I added a capital 'e' after the Pokédex number, which you can see in the coding. To be honest, I had to look at a Route page to see how, although I knew it was something like that.--Pokélova! 07:13, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Why?
You removed my post. As for reason you said that i shouldn't ansver to posts older than a year. I thought that maybe that was right but checked things anyway. Appears that the previous post on that thread was also made a year after the last. That was when i thought you were just being a nazi on me, but then again, still looked at the rules. There were no mention about what i did was against any rule, and actually i found this: If another user attempts to initiate a meaningless discussion with you, or if you spot one such discussion on a talk page, report the offending user and conversation to an administrator and under no circumstances participate in the discussion. Soo.. I think i should contact some admin about this. They can either tell me what wrong i did or just return my post to the page. ...Yea, no really any hard feelings... ...I was angry but i calmed down... Lumin 16:29, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Userspace limits
Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User:
namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than one edit per day and make sure you contribute to our mainspace more than your userspace. This policy was instated to promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our server. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! ----Pokemaster97 19:05, 14 July 2012 (UTC)

According to Bulbapedia's Userspace policy, it's strictly prohibited to steal a user's coding from their userspace without their permission, should they so claim that they don't want it taken. The party templates you recently put on your page are in fact mine, I coded them myself from scratch, and I clearly state on my page that I do not want people taking my templates. So I've therefore removed what was stolen from your page. Next time, ask before you just take something. ★Jo the Marten★ ಠ_ಠ♥ 10:30, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
How? Why?
I don't get it. This is your third time in abuse. That in itself is unacceptable, but what's weird is that you went a year without abusing the userspace, and yet all you have done this year is abuse the userspace! Maybe I should look at this from another perspective, it isn't ME that doesn't get it, it's YOU that doesn't get it. The mainspace is what we are here for. -- MAGNEDETH 21:40, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
Partial site block
Hi, I have given you an indefinite partial block from the user:
namespace per our Userspace policy. You have been told many times in the past that personal userspace edits need to be balanced out with contributions to the wiki. But as you continue to primarily edit on personal projects within your userspace, despite having previously spent considerable time in the past in the abuse usergroup, you will now be blocked from doing so. Please do consider the feedback that people have and continue to provide to you. Remember that Bulbapedia is primarily a public encyclopaedia, and we encourage all editors to help further this project, a userspace is mere a privilege we afford to active contributors. If you have any questions about the action taken please feel free to contact me or any other member of staff. 4iamking 19:29, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
