:I'm not sure what you mean... everyone's user talk page has their name at the top of it. I mean, scroll up, and you'll see '''User talk:Martonimos''' above all this. I was talking about other pages, though. Most recently, for example, you left a comment on [[Talk:Wallace]] about Milotic, and didn't sign it. That said, you did sign this comment on my page, so I'm glad to see that you're taking care of it. --[[User:Martonimos|Martonimos]] 22:51, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

== Move link project ==
This section is mostly for my own benefit, to help me keep track of this little side-project I've been working on. The eventual goal is to ensure that every link on Bulbapedia goes to an actual page, instead of a redirect. The list below includes moves and redirect pages for those moves that have links to them. By using the "what links here" and focusing on the redirects, I can find all such links and relink them to the actual page. While redirects are fine when users mistype something during a search, there shouldn't be any links that lead to them. I'm starting with moves, because I first saw this problem with the moves {{m|U-turn}} and {{m|SonicBoom}} (which were linked to as U-Turn and Sonicboom), but I hope to one day eliminate all links to redirects.
Known offending moves include:
*{{m|Mud-Slap}} (Mud Slap) [http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?target=Mud+Slap+%28move%29&offset=&limit=50&title=Special%3AWhatlinkshere&namespace=0 links]

Phew... that's quite a list, and I doubt I even have them all... If you spot any others, then be sure to let me know, and I'll add it here. As I said, I want to focus on moves first, but I'll move on to other pages over time. --[[User:Martonimos|<span style="color:#008000;">Martonimos</span>]][[User talk:Martonimos|<span style="color:#00FF00;">Talk</span>]] 01:51, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
I also enjoy having pages link directly to the intended article, rather than going through a redirect, so I'm taking care of the redirect links for the games, as you'll see in the recent changes.  Just thought I'd let you know. :D  --[[User:Politoed666|<span style="color:#30D5C8">ニョロトノ</span>]][[User talk:Politoed666|<span style="color:#FF69B4">''666''</span>]] 01:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

:::::My input on this one! Make sure that this anti-redirect measure doesn't include anime Pokémon. I've also done some redirects, although I am creating them rather than relinking what goes to them, and a recommendation: when you look for redirects, look often at misspellings of common terms ([[Pokémon Ranger Battonage]] is one I made like this) as they are easiest to mislink to.  As I have little info to contribute, I will try to help you out. == Questions about redirect project ==
#[[Nidoran (Pokémon)]] redirects to just [[Nidoran]], since the disambig page covers both genders. So I think I should replace all instances of <nowiki>{{p|Nidoran}}</nowiki> with <nowiki>[[Nidoran]]</nowiki>. But of course, the use of link templates is official policy, so I'm not sure that's a good idea... what do you guys think? Maybe we should move the disambig page to [[Nidoran (Pokémon)]], just to make things easier.
Answers plz. --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Talk</font>))]] 21:35, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
:Try this: <nowiki>{{p|Nidoran♂}} and {{p|Nidoran♀}}</nowiki>. ♂ and ♀ symbols on the character bar @ the bottom of the page. [[User:Theininen|Theininen]] 01:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
::Erm. I actually already did the few links there were. The problem was that the context of the links didn't mention the gender of the Nidoran, so the links lead to just [[Nidoran (Pokémon)]], because they still used the <nowiki>{{p}}</nowiki> template. I replaced, like, three of them (on pages [[Lucky Lucky]] and [[List of Pokémon with gender differences]]). There's one left, on [[Shū]], but that Nidoran actually has a gender, we just don't know what it is, so I'm waiting until we figure it out.
::Anyway, this question is no longer in effect. Thanks for your help. --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Talk</font>))]] 01:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
::No prob, I just thought that it would work if you hadn't thought of it. [[User:Theininen|Theininen]] 01:38, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

:Just open a new window or tab. You can find the userboxes with one, and edit them into your page with the other. Both [[wp:Safari (web browser)|Safari]] and {{wp|Mozilla Firefox}}, as well as countless other browsers, support multiple tabs, so if you don't have one of those, get whichever is more appropriate for your OS.

:Now. I 'm glad you're limiting yourself to five edits a day. If everyone had done that three months ago, we wouldn't have a userspace edit ban at all. BUT. Even that is going to get you in trouble, so here's what I suggest. You don't have to put anything on a page ''at all''. You can put the wikicode into a '''text file''' and save that to your computer. Then you can edit the text file all you want, without causing any trouble for the server. When you need to preview it, go to the {{bp|sandbox}}, copy the code from the text file into the sandbox, and just hit "show preview." If something needs changing, change it and preview it again until it's fixed. In the end, you don't even have to save the changes in the sandbox; just save everything in the text document once you're done. The server doesn't have to deal with the changes, and you won't have anyone yelling at you for making them. I've done this with my own user page, as well as a page full of [[Pokémon Gold and Silver remakes|GSDS]] predictions, so I can make a total of two edits after the ban is lifted and I'll be done for a long time.

::Look, I don't mind that you want to be called Guardian instead of Sailor, but you shouldn't do that again. Editing other people's comments is against Bulbapedia policy. You don't exactly have a great track record with Sp252, so watch your step. If you can avoid breaking any rules (take another look at both the [[Template:welcome|welcome message]] and{{bp|manual of style}}; anything not listed in those is pretty much common sense), anyone whose trust you've lost will grow to like you again over time. Just be careful in the meantime.
::Oh, and while we're at it, don't forget the "preview" button. Making multiple edits to your talk page just to test your sig is completely unecessary. Just hit "save changes" in the Preferences tab after you've done editing your sig, go to any talk page, type <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>, and hit "Show Preview." It'll show your updated sig. If you have another window or tab open, you can go to Preferences and edit the sig in one while you keep hitting the "preview" button in the other. That's how I got my sig to look like [[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Talk</font>))]] 19:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC).
:::Where to start...well, this kid completely stole the table from my talk page. I wouldn't be as mad about it if he would have changed the colors of it like everyone else, but no! He Completely took the entire thing, the exact colors, and he didn't even changed what I had written there. I usually don't get this angry, but I can't stand being taken advantage of by this [[twerp]]! ::::Ah yes. I recall you mentioning that... in an edit summary. This is really something you should have taken up with Guardian himself right away; there's no real reason to bring me into it, or to sit on it for this long. But I'll do my best to settle this peacefully.
::::Guardian, I get the feeling that you lifted the code from Moldy's page, pasted it directly on yours, and saved it without a second thought. Only later did you edit the text to be slightly different, and you still left the colors alone. This applies to the same things {{u|Kenji-girl}} and I have been telling you all along; use the preview button. There's no reason to slap the table on there, save it, and ''then'' edit it to match your preferences. It's easier on the server and makes you look more professional when you can do all your editing in one fell swoop. And like Moldy said, it'd be nice if you could come up with your own color scheme and text to put there, because ripping him off like that is pretty dumb. Look, in a few minutes, I'll put one of those tables on top of my page to try and demonstrate what I mean. For now, though, you should change your color scheme so Moldy can have his back.
::::Moldy, like I said, this is really something you should bring up with Guardian himself. I agree with you that he shouldn't have ripped you off so blatantly, but there was no real reason for you to wait until he posted here to actually approach him about it. Mostly, I'm just wondering why you didn't keep your color scheme and ask him to change his. Anyway, it doesn't matter now; just keep it in mind for future conflicts.
::::That's all I have to say for now. Let's take care of this quickly. --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]]<sub>[[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Talk</font>))]]</sub> 20:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
:::::OK, I've posted it. I lifted most of the code from {{u|Porygon-Z}} and a little from {{u|Tina}}, but as you can see, it's not quite the same as either of theirs. What's more, if you'll look at the history, you can see that I only took one edit to add it. What you can't see is the five hundred times I previewed that damned thing to get it looking just right (and the links still look ugly against that background... I don't feel like fixing it now, though). I know I sound like a broken record, but the preview button and multiple tabs are your friends. Use them as best you can, and it'll keep you out of a lot of trouble. --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Talk</font>))]] 21:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

== Alright then. ==

I'm changing the the Table as I don't want to be seen as being mean to Moldy Orange and I am sorry if he doesn't want anyone else using his colours so I want to change the colours.

That's when we hit a problem, I just made about 30 previews and I couldn't work it out. The code is in a strange order and once you change it and preview it there is no way of going back without having to completely restart it.

So could you please help. [[User:Sailor Earth|<font color="#0000FF">Guardian</font>]][[Special:Contributions/Sailor Earth|<font color="#FFFF00"> of</font>]][[User talk:Sailor Earth|<font color="#FF0000"> Earth</font>]] 11:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

*I want the top bit about messages background in Green and the top text Gold.

*The notices background to be blue with red writing.

*The archives background yellow, with one of those white boxes like in Table of Contents with black writing.

*Table of Contents background, red with the white box in the middle with blue writing.

*The sludge coloured border between everything to be white.

I am going to use a sandbox, to experiment first then put it on my page. [[User:Sailor Earth|<font color="#0000FF">Guardian</font>]][[Special:Contributions/Sailor Earth|<font color="#FFFF00"> of</font>]][[User talk:Sailor Earth|<font color="#FF0000"> Earth</font>]] 11:51, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

:You've got options here. You can either use <nowiki><font="#HEXCOD">, <span class="color:#HEXCOD">, or {{color|HEXCOD}}</nowiki> (where HEXCOD, obviously, stands for the hexadecimal code of the color you want). Using these are fairly simple; just put tags at either end of the text you want to change, or else type it in the third field of the template. When you do this in a link, though, be sure you include it within the code of the link itself, not outside it; otherwise, the link will remain blue. So, for example, the text in your top box should probably go either
:<code><nowiki>[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Sailor_Earth&action=edit&section=new '''{{color|C0C0C0|Please leave new messages at the bottom of this page.}}''']</nowiki></code>

:For your notices, just include the entire list in the template or tags (and use FF0000 for the hex code). The archive numbers already have a color template on each of them, so simply replace the 000 in those with C0C0C0 (which is what Wikipedia gave for Silver; if you don't like it, find a different color and use its hex code instead). --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Argh</font>]]|[[Special:Contributions/Martonimos|<font color="#50C878">Blargh</font>))]] 20:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Absorb, Mega Drain, Giga Drain. Also, the angle it's seen most of the time makes it look extremelly similar to a Metroid. And, last time I checked, being yellow, rabbit sized, and with electric-generating abilities, did not stop Pikachu being based on a mouse. :Like I said, as awesome as it would be, I doubt it's true. Pikachu is pretty clearly a mouse because its [[species]] is Mouse Pokémon; aside from that, it doesn't remind me of a mouse at all. If someone, by some stroke of extreme idiocy, only had their fic on the site, then if I posted a "delete" tag on it and one of the admins did away with it, it would be gone forever. Okay, I just have a few questions about this. Where does it ''say'' I cannot remove messages own my own talk page? It is mine after all. I am part of Avatar Wikia and there, the admins don't care what goes on on your own talk page. I for one enjoy my user page being clean. Besides, if I had known about this then, I would have just said "Okay, fine", and I wouldn't have to have an extra message to worry about (not to mention your response to this). Don't you think you can give me slack? I am a fairly new user and I didn't know. I'd like simply the "Welcome" message on my page for now. Please respond, Thanks. [[User:Bulbapedian|Bulbapedian]] 00:14, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
:Policies like this one are usually made on the forums, and I'm afraid this one has been around since before my time, so I have no idea where to find it. If you really want to clear your talk page, you can move the unwanted messages to an archive (it would be kind of ridiculous to do that for only two messages, especially since they're both subst'd templates, but there's no reason not to, I guess).
:I can't help you much, but if you try contacting one of the sysops (one of the older ones, preferably), they're likely to know more. --[[User:Martonimos|<font color="#008000">Martonimos</font>]][[User talk:Martonimos|((<font color="#00FF00">Argh</font>]]|[[Special:Contributions/Martonimos|<font color="#50C878">Blargh</font>))]] 00:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
::Okay, it's fine. I guess I'll just leave my talk page as it is. By the way, thanks for listening to me and not adding more to the page (which I would have found unbearable, but that's just me). == Well since everything on the forum has become, well a fourm ==

People seem to not get what I've been trying to say, and they're steering right back to the may thing when this is about people taking the ill will from that into other things.

I'm not sure if you, and i know they didn't understand what i was trying to say.

If the edit was so stupid why in the hell did you guys make me do all that crap.

I mean instead of simply adding "or May Birch" I had to go and get the Japanese and i think the term is kenji for the now not so simple addition.

I mean "May or May Birch" now had to be May or May Birch (Japanese: ハルカ Haruka or ダマキ博士 ハルカ Haruka Odamaki) just to please KG

Then when i added that and planed to do the explaining you wanted and her wanted so people didn't think those fanarts of them kissing was incest, everything gets screwed up. KG reverts and protects and because i told her it was an abuse of power everyone and their grandma shows up to put their two cents into it. a simple thing between me you and the no so cool tempered KG now was something out of hand.

Now with today's mess Moldy orange TTE and Porygonz had to be all cryptic

I mean why did they have to turn it into a big debate.

a simple website that talked about the body types being set in Diamond and pearl's Pokedex would have been nice.

I mean just say "the Body types are based on the actual classifications provided in Diamond and Pearl's Pokedex"

That would have kept a fight from happening

Just like if you guys had simply said "We don't put May Birch in any form because she, nor anybody else has officially said her full name either player or as a rival. Though it is likely her name as the Rival is May Birch, We keep it simple like how we list the player characters from Red, Blue and Yellow as just simply Red, Blue and Yellow."

That would have gotten all your points down right away and i wouldn't have had to put together all that japanese and kenji stuff.

You also kept saying you warned me not to add it but all i saw was you guys saying "What about this" "won't this confuse people"

If you thought it was stupid why did you drag it on?  really felt like you guys just anted to make a big deal out of it because you were bored and needed to argue with someone.

I mean i was pretty PO after i went and got all that stuff together, then you guys take it to a "Oh this is stupid we don't want it" directions.

But my main beef here is these admins coming along to bug me. I mean Moldy orange isn't exactly on my Christmas list, and he comes and jumps in on a convo between me and Porygon-z not even telling me he posted before but then getting a attitude with me saying "I have a right to be here so  if you don't like it tuff" I mean what kind of thing is that for a admin to say and act like.

TTE gets a attitude and tells me "get a DS kid" just because i haven't played or owned the last two games doesn't mean i can't edit bulbapedia. Also all they had to do like i said was say its based on the games. Instead they dance around it and continue to argue.

Yeah i asked for proof but that is only because i haven't gotten to play the games and didn't know that the body types were not unique to bulbapedia.

The main point is it seems everyone wants to get in on the action and open wounds that were just sealed. The admins don't act like they want to leave me alone and continue to follow me around and harass me.

I mean how come the admins are so interested in my edits lately? its like they want to find me doing something just so they can come and intervene and start a fight.

If you're still confused or don't understand sorry. I'm just saying make your point clear and these admins are really beginning to get on my nerves.[[User:Yami Takashi|Yami]] 02:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
:Do you know how to read!!?!?!??! Both me and Porygon-Z said they were based off the games. And, you '''can''' edit Bulbapedia if you don't have Diamond or Pearl, but, if you start changing things like item locations and body style's when you don't even have the game they are featured in, you ''will'' get reverted because you would be adding false information! So, shape up and quit taking ''everything'' as a personal attack and do something productive, or get the hell off for good! ::This "the-admins-are-out-to-get-me" conspiracy theory isn't going earn you any pity points, kiddo. If anything, it's just annoying a bunch of other people besides the admins, especially since you're the only one starting all these fights and dragging them on, insisting that you should have the last word. I imagine that you'd still be acting like a brat no matter how things were broken to you on any of the so-called issues that you're complaining about. As Moldy orange said, you can still edit Bulbapedia even without the most recent games, but know that if you do, you can't act all high-and-mighty and assume that you know everything. And what's really so wrong with being told to get a DS? It was merely a passing comment. Such a shame to know that this whole situation could've been avoided if you didn't let your ego get in the way, but alas, there's always going to be somebody who gets butthurt over trivial matters such as this... Gold Silver Ethan Time Capsule.png This is a talk page archive.

It contains old discussions of topics relating to the user. Please do not add or remove any content from it.

Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Martonimos!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

  • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
  • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
  • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
  • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
  • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
  • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
  • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
  • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
  • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
  • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! KPF 16:10, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Link templates

They're pretty much required when you link a Pokémon's species. Remember, there are like, seven bajillion Pikachu. TTEchidna 14:08, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't remember linking to Pikachu recently... which page did I do this on? --Martonimos 23:30, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Never mind, I see what you mean. In my defense, I'm not the one who made those links, but you're right that I should have repaired them before you did. --Martonimos 23:36, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

About my talk page

Did you see that I signed my name User talk:Kuki above it?--Kuki 22:44, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Kuki

I'm not sure what you mean... everyone's user talk page has their name at the top of it. I mean, scroll up, and you'll see User talk:Martonimos above all this. I was talking about other pages, though. Most recently, for example, you left a comment on "Talk:Wallace" about Milotic, and didn't sign it. That said, you did sign this comment on my page, so I'm glad to see that you're taking care of it. --Martonimos 22:51, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

As long as you saw it, would you like to read my story?--Kuki 22:54, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Kuki

Maybe. I'm a little backlogged on the fics I have to read, though, and I haven't written anything in months... but I'll check it out if I have time. --Martonimos 23:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Do u promise 2 read and review?--Kuki 23:17, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Kuki

If I read it, I'll review it. I always do. --Martonimos 23:35, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Raichu

Why did you put this on the Raichu page?:

=Biology=

- Raichu is similar to a Pickachu, only more gay. How is this possible? Raichu has more colors and more flamboyant features such as curly ears and a long, phallic tail with a fabulous lightning bolt. Only people named Dan like this particular pokemon, which is apparent by the tribal Hot Topic earring Dans wear that resemble the gay curls of Raichu's ears. - If you like Raichu, you must be a real man. And by man, I mean transvestite.

==Physiology==

- Raichu is a rather small bipedal rodent. It's able to run faster on all fours. Like Pikachu, from which it evolves, Raichu has long ears and feet, and stubby arms. Also like Pikachu, Raichu has two horizontal brown stripes on its back. Its long, thin tail has a broad, lightning bolt-shaped end. Raichu is a rather small bipedal rodent. ==Diet==

- Semen. Anyone who edits this fact that Raichu enjoys semen will die from the ghost of a pokemon crazed girl who died when her classmates pushed her down a well. Repost her story in five minutes on another pokemon page or she will haunt you and steal all of your pokemon cards.

MathijsP

I didn't put those things on Raichu's page, I took them off. User:Forthelulz is the one who put them on. I've reverted all five of his edits so far, and I was hoping TTEchidna would block him before he could make any more. Luckily, he's been inactive for some time now, so I guess he's done for the night.
That said, this is the second time I've gotten in trouble for someone else's edits. Are you having trouble viewing the recent changes? Because I'm growing tired of it. If you'd like to help me stop this vandal, then please, go ahead, but please do your homework before pinning the blame on me.
I don't mean to sound offensive, but as I've said, I'm getting tired. Thank you for your time. --Martonimos 07:16, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Anti-Combo Breaker

edit conflicts have nothing to do with the server. in fact, somtimes, when the server is fast, it happens more often. basically when two people post at the same time. or one person posts and the other is editing, then posts. -- MAGNEDETH 04:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I know. I was trying to express annoyance that you and TTE got to post five or six times because I had to edit my post each time to fit the conversation. I wasn't sure of what to say, so I just put a "YOU RUDDY SERVER!" at the end. Besides, if the server were faster, maybe I could have had the second post in that conversation, rather than the last. --Martonimos((Talk)) 04:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
ive been there, one time, i was on a page and about 4-5 people were posting at the same time... -- MAGNEDETH 04:03, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
So... sorry about the outburst. This is actually the second time today this has happened; two users started picking on each other on May's talk page while I was trying to ask a question, so I wound up trying to mediate between them, only to find that the conflict had escalated while I was typing. Still, it was pretty dumb to write that edit summary. It seemed like a good idea at the time. --Martonimos((Talk)) 04:26, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
no need to aplogize. i can see where you were comming from. -- MAGNEDETH 04:32, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Gen

your userpage states you only being a player of Silver. do you not have any other game, or do you just not have tags for them? btw, the first rule of Fight Club is - you do not talk about Fight Club. -- MAGNEDETH 01:32, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

I do have some others. Silver's the only one I play currently (and I haven't even touched that in weeks), but I also own Blue and Yellow, and I have a Sapphire somewhere, though I can't find it anywhere. I also have Ranger, which is currently in my brother's posession. I guess I should at least mention them... I do have an updated version of this page saved on my hard drive. I'll upload it, along with my GSDS page, when the edit ban gets lifted. And you're here because someone broke the rules. Somebody told you about Fight Club. --Martonimos((Talk)) 01:47, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
the ol "edit the page somwhere else" strategy. got it. i did that back during the server lock down, and back when the server was junk. just dont expect much in the way of user space when the ban is lifted (as in, talks of 5 edits a day sort of thing). and, just as long as i dont have to mention Rule #2.. -- MAGNEDETH 02:45, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, thanks to having everything done already (and a little button titled "preview") it should take me two edits at most to get everything up. I'm probably going to wait a few days after the ban is lifted to make them anyway, just because there'll be a huge flood of edits shortly afterwards (even if it's only five a day, five edits per user times several hundred users equals a lot of edits, and a lot of strain on the server). So like I said, it shouldn't matter. I just figured I'd write up some predictions on GSDS and edit the Fight Club and Dune tags so they have more than one color. --Martonimos((Talk)) 03:12, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
ah, i see. all i need to do is remove the "notice" on my page (as im done with SSBB single player), maybe move the 2nd notice (as its not really important and i only wanted it there as maybe a one week joke), maybe add something alluding to my birthday (as i remain anonymous right now), and lastly, update my Teams page. maybe even condense the whole page and then delete it. and, if i have an edit left, i can do a sprite page update in one edit easy (as people seem to actually like that page). ive got it planned out as well. -- MAGNEDETH 04:00, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

thankyou

Thanks by the way for the help on link templates.

p.s reading your other talk bit, When is the user space going to get unlocked, I have never been able to do it because I joined in the ban. Sailor Earth 20:58, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

In fact you could go 1 step further and teach me how to do Tables and changing your signature. :) {sorry just learnt how to add no wiki so tried it}

Hmm... let's see. The User Space was locked back in March, and though TTEchidna kept promising it would be "just another week" before they got everything figured out, it's been several months by now. I think most of us just aren't getting our hopes up. You're familiar with the problem, right? People were editing their userpages so much that 1) The server was bogged down with their edits, and 2) They were ignoring the main space. They locked down the userspace to stop this, and it's worked pretty well so far. The admins aren't cruel, though (certain April Fool's jokes aside), and they're trying to get them back by limiting the number of times we could edit them per day. The problem is, there's no way to prevent users from editing their userspaces too much short of manually policing their edits and stopping them when they go too far. So it'll probably be a while yet before they can figure something out. In the meantime, some people are putting content they would put on their user page on their user talk page to be moved later. While this seems OK to me, don't do it too much. If people start editing their talk pages as much as they used to edit their user pages, those'll get blocked as well, and that'd really cause trouble for us. EDIT: Ignore the struck-through parts. Nobody should be using their user talk pages for userpages, as that circumvents the purpose of the ban and bogs down the server just as badly.
Doing your signature is easy. Click on "preferences" in the row of links at the top of any page when you're logged in. Scroll down to where it says "nickname," check the box that says "raw signatures," and enter your signature code into the "nickname" field. It'll handle both wikicode and html, so you can do cool stuff like Martonimos((Talk)). BUT! Before making a signature, be sure you look at the new signature policy to make sure your sig complies with the rules.
Tables are pretty hard, at least for me. Whenever I see a table that needs fixing, I run screaming and wait for someone who knows what they're doing to take care of it. The manual of style has a crash course in them, so I'll summarize that here. Basically, the code
{|
! Top cell 1
! Top cell 2
|-
| Thingy
| Other thingy
|-
| Another thingy
| More thingies
|-
| Doohicky
| Yet another thingy
|-
| Second-to-last thingy
| Last thingy
|}
will get you
Top cell 1 Top cell 2
Thingy Other thingy
Another thingy More thingies
Doohicky Yet another thingy
Second-to-last thingy Last thingy
As you can see, you separate cells with a | and rows with a |-. For fanciness, add borders by using something like {| style="border: 1px solid #999; border-collapse: collapse;" in place of just {| in the top line.
If, on the other hand, you were asking about tables like the ones on top of these guys' talk pages, I can't really help you. You're better off asking one of them (probably Jioruji Derako, since he's apparently the one who came up with it).
If there's anything else you need, just let me know. I can't do everything (yet), but I can try. --Martonimos((Talk)) 21:38, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

セーラー地球 15:44, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

First of all, try to avoid making a comment twice. Second of all, it looks like you've got it figured out, so good work. That said, the image part of the box you created is twice as long as most others as a result of having two images, so maybe you should reduce their size so they mesh better with the other boxes. Template:User Jewish, for example, has three images, but they all fit in the space of one. It's just a suggestion, but you may want to try it. --Martonimos((Talk)) 20:46, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

um

it's not thatI make mistakes and have to change it, it's that I have to save then find more templates to add.

Thanks for all the advice and for looking at that userbox for me. ShiningPikablu fixed it in the end but thanks for going to do it anyway. Like I said to Kenji-Girl I'm limiting my edits to 5 a day. セーラー地球 21:25, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Just open a new window or tab. You can find the userboxes with one, and edit them into your page with the other. Both Safari and Mozilla Firefox, as well as countless other browsers, support multiple tabs, so if you don't have one of those, get whichever is more appropriate for your OS.
Now. I 'm glad you're limiting yourself to five edits a day. If everyone had done that three months ago, we wouldn't have a userspace edit ban at all. BUT. Even that is going to get you in trouble, so here's what I suggest. You don't have to put anything on a page at all. You can put the wikicode into a text file and save that to your computer. Then you can edit the text file all you want, without causing any trouble for the server. When you need to preview it, go to the sandbox, copy the code from the text file into the sandbox, and just hit "show preview." If something needs changing, change it and preview it again until it's fixed. In the end, you don't even have to save the changes in the sandbox; just save everything in the text document once you're done. The server doesn't have to deal with the changes, and you won't have anyone yelling at you for making them. I've done this with my own user page, as well as a page full of GSDS predictions, so I can make a total of two edits after the ban is lifted and I'll be done for a long time.
Try it. If you need any help, contact me or one of the other friends you've made here. We may act like dicks sometimes, but we're largely willing to help. Just don't clog up the recent changes with user talk page edits; you're giving other users ideas, and if this spreads too far, we'll never be able to clean it up. --Martonimos((Talk)) 21:43, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. Can I delete all the stuff on my talk page and start fresh? - unsigned comment from Purpleknowitall (talkcontribs)

Not all of it, no. Keeping comments and the welcome message on your page are official policy, and you'll get in trouble if you try to erase any of those. I don't know that it'd make a difference to remove the tags you have now, although you probably should remove them once we get the userspace back. But don't add any more. Like I said, write them down or copy the code into a text file. --Martonimos((Talk)) 01:54, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

"Deoxys's Four Forms Retconned"

I thought that's what you meant. The thing is, though, Deoxys's forms have always used the French "Forme" rather than "Form". At least, in things directly from Nintendo. Just wanted to let you know. Deoxys911 22:54, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Wait, what? What "things" are you talking about, exactly? As far as I know (and everyone else here also, apparently), the whole Forme mess only started when Giratina's Formes were unveiled to the Japanese. If what you're saying is right... well, I don't know quite what it would mean, but it'd definitely be important. --Martonimos((Talk)) 23:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
I can't actually remember, but I know for a fact that Nintendo has been using "forme" for Deoxys the whole time. Prima Games as well. EDIT: OK, here is an example. Deoxys911 03:18, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Hmm. Interesting, but it doesn't actually prove it. The people at Pokémon.com could change that page just as easily as the Pokédex itself. If you could provide a scan of something in print that was published back then, like a page from a Prima guide that uses the word "Forme," that'd be perfect. --Martonimos((Talk)) 04:21, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
I have a Prima guide from 2006 that uses "Forme." I don't have a scanner, but I'll take a picture of the page. If it's clear enough, I'll provide a link. EDIT: OK, my camera can't get a picture with clear text. But look in any Pokémon guide book that has Deoxys's four formes, and look at how they spell "form." It's with an "e" at the end. Don't worry about it, Guardian. Moldy, who's a thief and what did he steal? --Martonimos((Talk)) 18:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Look, I don't mind that you want to be called Guardian instead of Sailor, but you shouldn't do that again. Editing other people's comments is against Bulbapedia policy. You don't exactly have a great track record with Sp252, so watch your step. If you can avoid breaking any rules (take another look at both the welcome message andmanual of style; anything not listed in those is pretty much common sense), anyone whose trust you've lost will grow to like you again over time. Just be careful in the meantime.
Oh, and while we're at it, don't forget the "preview" button. Making multiple edits to your talk page just to test your sig is completely unecessary. Just hit "save changes" in the Preferences tab after you've done editing your sig, go to any talk page, type ~~~~, and hit "Show Preview." It'll show your updated sig. If you have another window or tab open, you can go to Preferences and edit the sig in one while you keep hitting the "preview" button in the other. That's how I got my sig to look like Martonimos((Talk)) 19:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC).
Where to start...well, this kid completely stole the table from my talk page. I wouldn't be as mad about it if he would have changed the colors of it like everyone else, but no! He Completely took the entire thing, the exact colors, and he didn't even changed what I had written there. It was exactly what I spent three days perfecting (except for about three words) and now mine looks like crap!! I usually don't get this angry, but I can't stand being taken advantage of by this twerp! MoldyOrange 19:40, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Ah yes. I recall you mentioning that... in an edit summary. This is really something you should have taken up with Guardian himself right away; there's no real reason to bring me into it, or to sit on it for this long. But I'll do my best to settle this peacefully.
Guardian, I get the feeling that you lifted the code from Moldy's page, pasted it directly on yours, and saved it without a second thought. Only later did you edit the text to be slightly different, and you still left the colors alone. This applies to the same things Kenji-girl and I have been telling you all along; use the preview button. There's no reason to slap the table on there, save it, and then edit it to match your preferences.
Moldy, like I said, this is really something you should bring up with Guardian himself.
That's all I have to say for now. Let's take care of this quickly. --Martonimos((Talk)) 20:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
OK, I've posted it. I lifted most of the code from Porygon-Z and a little from Tina, but as you can see, it's not quite the same as either of theirs. --Martonimos((Talk)) 21:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Alright then.

Guardian of Earth 11:48, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I want the top bit about messages background in Green and the top text Gold.
  • The notices background to be blue with red writing.
  • The archives background yellow, with one of those white boxes like in Table of Contents with black writing.
  • Table of Contents background, red with the white box in the middle with blue writing.
  • The sludge coloured border between everything to be white.

I am going to use a sandbox, to experiment first then put it on my page. Guardian of Earth 11:51, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Okay I have changed the backgrounds and it looks really good. Can you please help by,

  • telling me how to change the top box's font to silver,
  • Archive numbers to silver and
  • Notices text to red FF0000

Guardian of Earth 12:46, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

You've got options here. You can either use <font="#HEXCOD">, <span class="color:#HEXCOD">, or {{color|HEXCOD}} (where HEXCOD, obviously, stands for the hexadecimal code of the color you want). Using these are fairly simple; just put tags at either end of the text you want to change, or else type it in the third field of the template. When you do this in a link, though, be sure you include it within the code of the link itself, not outside it; otherwise, the link will remain blue. So, for example, the text in your top box should probably go either
[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Sailor_Earth&action=edit&section=new '''{{color|C0C0C0|Please leave new messages at the bottom of this page.}}''']
or else
[http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Sailor_Earth&action=edit&section=new '''<font color="C0C0C0">Please leave new messages at the bottom of this page.</font>''']
For your notices, just include the entire list in the template or tags (and use FF0000 for the hex code). The archive numbers already have a color template on each of them, so simply replace the 000 in those with C0C0C0 (which is what Wikipedia gave for Silver; if you don't like it, find a different color and use its hex code instead). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Kabuto

Absorb, Mega Drain, Giga Drain. Also, the angle it's seen most of the time makes it look extremelly similar to a Metroid. And, last time I checked, being yellow, rabbit sized, and with electric-generating abilities, did not stop Pikachu being based on a mouse. Why would Kabuto have to be exactly a Metroid in a Pokemon game to be considered as based on, but not other species? The influence is clear. Eriorguez 15:46, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Like I said, as awesome as it would be, I doubt it's true. Pikachu is pretty clearly a mouse because its species is Mouse Pokémon; aside from that, it doesn't remind me of a mouse at all. Unfortunately, unless you can see into the insane machinations minds of the creators of Pokémon, there's no way to know for sure what "origins" are true and which ones are just ideas the fans had. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:48, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

a couple of things

I don't know why you asked TTE about the Toomanypersonal template, it was my idea and I'm the only one who uses it... and, I have a job that I think you would be good at and I want to know if you would like to do it. MoldyOrange 22:46, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm really sorry. I thought for a while about which admin would be best for that question, and I eventually settled on him.
To be honest, though, I wasn't asking about the Toomanypersonal so much as the Template:Ficwarning template I had just made. If someone, by some stroke of extreme idiocy, only had their fic on the site, then if I posted a "delete" tag on it and one of the admins did away with it, it would be gone forever. I was wondering how much time I should give them to save it and repost it on FF.net or the Library before having it deleted. I do quite a bit of writing myself, so I care about these things more than I should.
As for the job, well, I can try. As you can tell, I don't have nearly the dedication of some contributors here, but if you think that I might be good at it... --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:41, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, he created the template for me I guess, so you had it right there. I would say five days is enough for fanfics. If they weren't smart enough to save it somewhere else, they don't really need it on here. Also, admins can restore deleted pages, so even if it is deleted in the first place...the information is still retrievable. MoldyOrange 12:48, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Please dont delete fan fics, I only have 2 subpages, and i rarely edit them. Martonimos, back to what this section was made for. There are certain pages that should never have links to them, because they are the shortlink, and when they are linked to, that means they were linked correctly on the page. They are pages: "P" "M" and "U". Can you make sure that these pages never have any links? MoldyOrange 17:10, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Sure, that sounds easy enough. I'll try to patrol them every once in a while.
Guardian, there are plenty of places you can post your fanfic. The Library is down right now, but like Glinn said, there's a section of the forums meant for fics that you can use. And there's always FF.net. Zhen Lin has asked us to "begin the purge" and "strike down the non-believers", so I think it's time you found another place to post your fic. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:04, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

As far as I know, i just deleted an apostrophe. Sorry about replying on your user page, though. I was on the phone, and paying maybe 2% attention to what I was doing. As long as the page is back to the way it should be, it's cool with me. Jamie1743 04:58, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

All right. I'm sorry for snapping at you like that. You can just never be sure whether you're dealing with a good person making an honest mistake, a complete moron being true to form, or a out-and-out malevolent vandal. My guess is that you edited an older version of the page, fixed the "it's," and then saved it over mine on accident. The reason I didn't see that is because I had fixed that "it's" already, so it didn't appear in the differences between my edits and yours. So, sorry. And thanks for fixing "it's"s when you see them; it seems like fewer and fewer people can make that distinction nowadays. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 05:03, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

The User:namespace warnings I got

I tried to use the tips you guys gave me, which is to preview my changes to make tons at a time. I don't understand why you are being so strict. None of the other wikis (including Wikipedia) that I've been a member of care that much about how often you edit your userpage, so I'm curious as to why Bulbapedia does. Bulbagarden is a stressed-out server. In addition, we wish to encourage contributing to the mainspace more than the userspace. --ニョロトノ666 20:35, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Before you joined, there were serious problems with editing the userspace. People were litarally doing more work on their userpages than they were on the main articles, and slowing the server to a crawl with all their edits. So the admins enacted a several-month block on all userspace edits, which was only recently lifted. In order to prevent the crisis from happening again, we're trying to keep people from editing their userpages more than three times a day. I understand your confusion, but I also hope that you understand our apprehension. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:37, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Okay, thanks, I understand now. I'll be more careful about how much I edit my userpage. Also, is there a directory with all the userboxes like some other wikis have? I think that would make it easier for me to reduce my number of edits, as I've been having to search people's userpages for userboxes. PsychicWaterMaster 20:38, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I just have a few questions about this. Where does it say I cannot remove messages own my own talk page? It is mine after all. I am part of Avatar Wikia and there, the admins don't care what goes on on your own talk page. I for one enjoy my user page being clean. Besides, if I had known about this then, I would have just said "Okay, fine", and I wouldn't have to have an extra message to worry about (not to mention your response to this). Don't you think you can give me slack? I am a fairly new user and I didn't know. I'd like simply the "Welcome" message on my page for now. Please respond, Thanks. Bulbapedian 00:14, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Policies like this one are usually made on the forums, and I'm afraid this one has been around since before my time, so I have no idea where to find it. If you really want to clear your talk page, you can move the unwanted messages to an archive (it would be kind of ridiculous to do that for only two messages, especially since they're both subst'd templates, but there's no reason not to, I guess).
I can't help you much, but if you try contacting one of the sysops (one of the older ones, preferably), they're likely to know more. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 00:19, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay, it's fine. I guess I'll just leave my talk page as it is. By the way, thanks for listening to me and not adding more to the page (which I would have found unbearable, but that's just me). Thank you for informing me, I will get the hang of it all in due time. Bulbapedian 00:57, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Well since everything on the forum has become, well a fourm

I'm just saying make your point clear and these admins are really beginning to get on my nerves.Yami 02:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Do you know how to read!!?!?!??! Both me and Porygon-Z said they were based off the games. And, you can edit Bulbapedia if you don't have Diamond or Pearl, but, if you start changing things like item locations and body style's when you don't even have the game they are featured in, you will get reverted because you would be adding false information! So, shape up and quit taking everything as a personal attack and do something productive, or get the hell off for good! MoldyOrange 02:56, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
This "the-admins-are-out-to-get-me" conspiracy theory isn't going earn you any pity points, kiddo.
