Maverick Nate was the first official Editor-in-Chief of Bulbagarden Archives, and remained in this role until January 1, 2011. Jello took over the role on March 15, 2011 as Archives Director, and remained in this position until June 12, 2011. After Jello's retirement, the Archives lacked an individual leader and was instead led jointly by the heads of the two other Bulbawikis: MAGNEDETH, Editor-in-Chief of Bulbapedia, and RexRacer, Editor in Chief of Bulbanews. On December 14, 2011, Kogoro took over this role as the Archives Liaison.

Bulbagarden Archives is overseen by an Advisory Council, headed by the Archives Director, that collaborates on all executive decisions, including the making of policies. There are also many staff members who oversee the day-to-day running of the site.
