History
Pre-series
Years prior to the series, Alex attended Indigo Academy. A few years later, he created a picture book about the story of the Ancient Adventurer.
Pokémon Horizons: The Series
Alex was first mentioned in The Pendant That Starts It All (Part One) by his daughter, Liko. He and his wife recommended Indigo Academy as the place where Liko would attend in the hopes of finding her goal.
Alex made his first physical appearance in Welcome to Paldea!. After welcoming Friede and Roy to their home, he expresses his worries to Friede, which he reassured him that with the time spent with the Rising Volt Tacklers, she had fun. After a sleepless night spent on the Brave Olivine, Liko returned home to apologize for his behavior and told him that she wanted to continue his journey as a member of the group together with Sprigatito, which Alex understood and accepted. Later, he told Liko and Friede that there were sightings of a black Rayquaza over Artazon and gave them some of his books for Roy.
Alex reappeared in The Future I Choose, explaining to Liko about his inspirations for writing the book about Lucius, the Ancient Adventurer.
Alex reappeared in a flashback in Respective Departures when Liko recalled her Pokémon journey up until that point.
In HZ046, Alex welcomed Liko upon her return to Paldea. During that meeting, Liko told Alex and Lucca about her journey with the Rising Volt Tacklers and discovered that Sprigatito had evolved.
In HZ048, it was revealed that Alex was helping with the Artazon Arts Festival. After being introduced to Dot, Alex watched Roy's battle against Nemona and later evaluated the arts that his daughter's friends made for the event. Soon after, Alex watched Roy's battle against Brassius and, at the end of it, he invited the children to enjoy the festival.
Character
Alex is a caring father and spends most of his time painting portraits of Pokémon. Alex is well recognized for his talent as a painter, including other artists such as Brassius and Hassel as fans.

Fidough is Alex's only known Pokémon. It assists with his work by producing yeast. Initially, Sprigatito was jealous of the way Liko interacted with Fidough, and this caused it to shy away from her for a while. After Fidough was able to befriend Sprigatito and they fell asleep together, Alex made a painting of the two Pokémon.
None of Fidough's moves are known.
