Tommy

Tommy (Japanese: タクト Takuto) is a character of the day who appeared in Gonna Rule The School!.

As a student of the Pokémon Trainers' School in Rustboro City, he went on a class field trip with Roxanne's Beginner Class. After a Poliwag ran off and was found by Max, he blamed Kenny for ruining the field trip. However, Anita defended Kenny from Tommy, which led to a fight, only for it to be stopped by Roxanne.

During Ash and his friends tour of the school, Tommy set his sights on testing Max's knowledge. Tommy quizzed Max on what attacks would work against Flying-type Pokémon and ones that are underground. As Max answered both correctly due to his vast knowledge of Pokémon, Tommy became jealous.

The next day, while Ash was helping Kenny to overcome his fear of touching Pokémon, Tommy pretended to trip on Poliwag's tail, which caused a fight between him and Max. When the class got outside, Tommy battled Max during a training class in a one-on-one Pokémon battle. Using Magby against Max's Poliwag, he got the upper hand since Max was relying on defensive moves. As Tommy was about to defeat Max, Team Rocket interrupted the battle in order to make off with all the Pokémon they stole from the Poké Ball Deposit Room. Tommy teamed up with Max and Anita to battle them, and Roxanne's Geodude later sent Team Rocket blasting off.

Tommy prides himself as the school's star student. However his competitive nature often led to conflict with other students. Anita, in particular, took a disliking to Tommy for often picking on Kenny. After defeating the Rocket trio with the other students, Tommy seemed to have settled his differences with Anita and Kenny.

Magby was first seen on a field trip with Roxanne's Beginner Class, and again when the class was trying to get used to Pokémon. It was later seen in its battle with Max's Poliwag. During the battle Max kept raising Poliwag's defense but didn't bother to go offensive leaving Tommy almost victorious. However the match was interrupted by Team Rocket's arrival. During Team Rocket's attempt to capture the Pokémon from the school, Tommy and Magby sneaked away and heated up the Wurmple-shaped mecha with Flamethrower.

Magby's only known move is Flamethrower.
